DP's "Brick and Mortar"

At 7:30am on Sunday, October 23rd I got a call at home from the Clifton police. "There's a huge hole in the front of your store. Appears to be a drunk driver hit-and-run. Better get down here". I raced to the store to find that the lower section to the left of the door had been plowed through - glass, metal and wood everywhere. A few calls later and a contractor came to seal up the gaping hole. It's going to be a few weeks before it's permanently fixed.

This is what I was greeted with when I arrived.	From the inside, the car had smashed the lower glass area where four Commodore monitors were kept. Amazingly, the monitors themselves didn't appear to be damaged!
Some good news, the new "DP Red" carpet has been installed, and the display cases are now assembled and in place. Look how nice the non-smashed sections of the store look!
These back-of-store bins will be used for "bargain bin" stuff, one will be 99 cent items, the other 1.99 items.	The three center-aisle display cases were assembled on Friday and will most likely contain the newest titles, with one of them reserved for interesting rare stuff (by the register on the other side of the island).
At the end of the day, here's what the smashed in section looks like. It's not pretty, but it's sturdy.		I've opted to have this area filled with concrete instead of windows for the renovation. It will match the other side of the store that way.
