    Mario Kart got a *lot* of two player action back when I worked at the hobby shop. So did Zombies Ate My Neighbours.

    These days it's the co-operative mode of Halo and, of course, the mini-games in Super Monkey Ball .
    Time will be when the broadest river dries
    And the great cities wane and last descend
    Into the dust, for all things have an end

    I know this is an old post and you're smarter now, but c'mon: None of these are NES games.

    Chalk up another vote for Ice Hockey. It deserves a spot on the list.
