    I suggest the following list . . .

    Bionic Commando
Final Fantasy Adventure (aka Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden)
Final Fantasy Legend (aka Saga, and so on)
    Final Fantasy Legend II
    Final Fantasy Legend III
    Fortified Zone
    Gargoyle's Quest
    Kid Dracula
Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
    Metroid II: Return of Samus
    Operation C
    Super Mario Land 2
Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land
    Tetris
    Wario Land 2

. . . which leaves us with four spots to fill.

Nobody's mentioned Kirby's Adventure yet?? Easy game and you could beat it quick- but still loads of fun.

Well, whatever that game was called. Dreamland something or another.

    hmmmm interesting question :P

I'd have to agree with the obvious original Tetris, and Zelda. But also I'd add Kirby's Pinball... but I don't remember if that came out of the time of Super Gameboy.. and would those count?

Harvest Moon was great...as well as the original Pokemon game. I'll also agree with Mario Land 2 and Links Awakening. Galaga/Galaxian was pretty fun too, but maybe thats just me.

Definitely Pokemon and Donkey Kong must make the list.

I suppose it's hard not to compare other games to their equivalents on other consoles. Operation C was really kind of cheap, and I've been told that the Castlevania games are much the same. Super Mario Land 1 was definitely sub-par. The two Kirby games were of pretty decent quality, but still inferior to Kirby's Adventure (NES) or Kirby Super Star (SNES).

How about Blaster Master: Enemy Below? Seems that one kind of slipped under the radar. Technically, that was one of the last B&W Game Boy games, although it was actually a "dual mode" cart that contained a complete GBC version too.

For that matter, the Donkey Kong Land games had something going for them too.

I am surprised nobody said the original Super Mario Land. Sure, blurry most of the time, and didn;t have the graphics of the sequels, but i think the game was absolutely great. I remember buying this after Tetris. I just couldn't believe I was playing a complete Super Mario game on a portable! I really love this game...even still. It was Mario's Gameboy debut, and needs to be recognized for the great game it is.

I stand corrected. Gunstarhero named it as well. Good choice! This game NEEDS to be in the top list.

I third that notion. Little teeny Mario and it rocked The 2nd Mario game (w/ the bigger Mario) is great as well.. what was it called "the golden coins" or something?

Another b/w game that comes to mind that I really liked was Alleyway. Yeah, but a breakout clone, but every system (IMHO) needs one I am really not sure about other breakout clones on the GB, but I liked this one. They even got Mario involved It was simple, nothing extraordinary, but another one of the first I bought when the system came out and I had alot of fun with it.

Hmm. These are all good choices. I have to admit I haven't played as much GameBoy as the other systems, but there are a few I like.

Tetris, of course. The music is better on the original cart, and, yes, that counts for a lot. I'm also a big fan of Donkey Kong, even though most of the levels are embarrassingly easy. Toss in Zelda (of course), the first two Mario Lands (the first one may be ugly, but it's fun), and Operation C.

I'm still nostalgic for the first GB Castlevania, even though it's too damn hard. All three castlevanias are great, though.

How about Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle? I really dug that game on the NES, and I was glad that a whole series of games made its way onto the GB. The music on that game was wonderful.

Another great find is Burgertime (who forgot that one?). And don't forget Revenge of the Gator, that great alligator pinball game. And, also for nostalgia, I'll add Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man to any list. They certainly played (and looked) better than that lousy version of Ms. Pac-Man on the Lynx.
