    Default Does your ColecoVision smell?

For some reason in all these years I don't think it's occurred to me to ask this before.

If there's one thing I associate with my old ColecoVision, it's a distinctive odor. Of course it is hard to describe, but it's something like decaying plastic and mothballs. Not a bad smell, mind you; I of course have many pleasant memories associated with it. Maybe it's something in the plastic breaking down, or some component in that monster of a power supply. Or maybe my CV was just stored somewhere odd.

    So, does your ColecoVision smell?

    Yes, it does.

So do several of the oldest consoles or Pong clones I've come across. It's just something about that 1970s plastic and PCB material.

Ah, yes, the Coleco smell. I can't speak for the Colecovision since I haven't had one for awhile but the PCBs in the Coleco tabletop VFD games all have a distinct odor.

At least you didn't spray Axe on it and make it smell like a douchebag.

Maybe your colecovision has spent the past 20 years in Peter Griffin's belly button.

So, do Atari 2600's smell the same way?
