I'll be there again. I still have some of my two different Retro Gamer shirt styles from 08 and 09, plus some other stuff and will once again be showing off the Red Commodore and the SX-64. If nobody else is planning to bring one, I might bring my CD-32 system as well. My Star Trek videogame collection has grown since 09, but I am not sure if I will have get the extra table to exhibit it.

You folks who are on the fence about getting a table: just do it. You don't need to have "obscure" stuff to be there. Remember that most of the people attending haven't laid eyes on anything newer than a PlayStation 2 since the last time they came! It is a LOT of fun to have a table. You get more time to hang out with cool people, and get to really meet some attendees as well. You will have plenty of time to browse other tables before the show, plus people usually take turns watching each other's tables for bathroom breaks.

Well, if I do get a table (which I've pretty much talked myself out of), I was thinking of hooking up a Sega Genesis with a Sega CD and 32X, then to top it off I'd plug it into my VictorMaxx Stuntmaster VR helmet and put some games in there that would play well through it. I could also bring some other oddball machines, like a Xavix GamePort or a Nuon DVD player. The main problem is that I want to have the freedom to leave whenever I want and not be chained to a table, especially if the thief that hit CGE in Vegas decides to visit Tulsa and I'll have to watch all of my rares. I've got plenty of stuff I don't really need in my collection that I could sell, so there's justification for a table right there. But I'd like to go out for breakfast or lunch and not saddle someone with watching my stuff.

I'll just do the same thing I always do, wake up painfully early and arrive all frazzled and jittery from energy drinks, hang out until around 4pm, then pick up a few things in town (Weber's Root Beer, I got there a couple minutes after they closed last year and I won't make that mistake again!) and make the bleary-eyed and groggy drive home, probably fueled by more energy drinks just in case my heart wasn't punished enough. It's become a tradition for me. I only know Tulsa through half-drooping eyes and having the feeling I'll blow out a ventricle from caffeine abuse.

One thing I have to say, last year the show happened to be in that week or two when all the trees change color, and it was really beautiful in Tulsa. That was good timing. I wish I had taken some pictures.

Is there a good amount of games to buy there? Here's a few pics I took last year. Oddly, both tables from local Dallas guys, Darren and Brett.

A picture of all the stuff I picked up last year, a nice odd and eclectic assortment of goodies. Not that much as far as video games went, I've bought more gaming stuff in past shows. A whole lot more. Last year, though, I was more conservative with my cash.

I know I'm replying to this horribly late, but if rare/expensive things are your cup of tea, Trade N Games had some choice items last year. Pretty reasonably priced stuff, too. He had a boxed Bubble Bobble 2 for around 100.

From peeking at the website, I see Mad Gear is going to be there as well. He has some really expensive goodies (mostly import stuff). I used to buy a lot of import stuff from him via eBay several years ago. I'll be honest, his prices are on the slightly high side of reasonable, but if you want something crazy, like a copy of Eliminate Down, I'd bet that if he doesn't have it, he can get it. I bought a Twinkle Tale in PERFECT condition from him in the 100ish range before. Good seller.

Hopefully I can head out again this year. Last year was honestly better than I would have expected. I can see me going (or at least attempting to go) to this every year.

I'm not bringing much high end import stuff to the show because there really isn't a point given the 15 year low the dollar is at versus the yen. Currently, a mint Twinkle Tale currently costs me 100 or more to import from Japan (typical price is 7500-8500 yen in Japan).

I am bringing a lot of stuff though so if you are able/interested in buying a bunch of stuff please give haggling a shot. I sell at over 20 shows a year across the country and always give "package deals" for regular buyers or buyers who buy a bunch of stuff in one shot. I also take visa/mastercard for your convenience.

For anybody that's worried, Mad Gear is one of the best and fairest dealers out there. I buy from him at every show I can and from his ebay sales when there's not a show around. Everything he has is top notch and always in amazing condition! I know a good chunk of my OVGE money will be spent with him, if not all of it!

Well, tomorrow's the big day. I'm planning on going to sleep extra early tonight and heading out roughly around 4 to 4:30 AM. It takes me something like four and a half hours to get there from Dallas. Then I end up leaving the show an hour before it ends at five. Take care of some errands around Tulsa, and hopefully be back at home before 11 PM. I'm looking forward to it.

It seems that I had downed so much caffeine on the drive up that morning that my hands were a little too shaky to get clear enough shots. Brett Weiss's table and the Trade N Play tables were too blurry to post.

I did take some pictures of the stuff I picked up this year. All the music CDs came from our own Phosphor Dot Fossil's booth. I had plenty of stuff to listen to on the drive home! And that blank Xonox cartridge is It's Only Rock And Roll for the Colecovision.

A close-up shot of Gunstar Heroes for the Game Gear.

I took off for lunch and ended up doing a bunch of thrift store shopping along with hitting some locations of Vintage Stock and GameXchange. I picked these two up at Vintage Stock.
