MEGA STARFORCE REMIX - Zoltar's Realm A 1994 game by X-ample Architectures and the AirWolf Team ----------------------------------------------------------- This game is a remix of the 1993 commercial game Mega Starforce by X-ample. It may be regarded as 'Starforce Part 3'. It features new graphics, new sound, new sprites, new charsets and a new story. GAME CATEGORY A take-off on Space Invaders by Taito. THE STORY After returning to the great star, you receive a message which tells a horrible story. while you were on your mission your home planet was attacked and finally destroyed in a giant meltdown so everyone who lived there is dead, your family, your friends, everyone. You are the only survivor oF your system, the Antaris colony. Soon, you find out who sent the deadly forces. it was the evil king oF Galaxy Arm X3. His name is Zoltar. An anonymous package arrives for you containing an audiogenic data carrier. On it are some records made by an agent who received them over a directionaL transmitter system pointing at x3 main station, residence of Zoltar. Playing it, you hear the frightening voice of Zoltar: "Destroy that shitty planet, it blocks the view on the beautiful colors of the fluctuating Arcturus nebula." "Yes, sir !" a colonel answers. ...the transmission ends... And for you it's clear Zoltar must pay for that. So you decide to enter Galaxy Arm x3 and let him get what he deserves. Years have passed since the last one a guy called Sharon tried to pass the frontiers of the regions controlled by Zoltar's fleet. Sharon's ship was a class 3 Vectrocon fighter, one of the best of its time. Everyone saw him flying into Zoltar's realm, but he never returned. Since that time nobody dared to enter that Zoltar-controlled part of the galaxy. but you have no other choice. Somebody has to end the domination of that evil creature. So you make your way. We gathered all information we could get about Zoltar's realm to prepare you for your mission. There are 10 regions, each one has three sectors. Region 1 You will meet the first ships of Zoltar. you are just entering Zoltar's realm. You will also see some asteroids, they are left over from the planet Hydria, which was destroyed by Zoltar's army in the Sun Wars 350 years ago. Region 2 Zoltar's first outpost, called The Skylab. From this base many conquering missions are started. Although it is far away from the heart of Zoltar's realm, it is well equipped and some intercepting ships are always ready. Region 3 The region of the colorfuLmoons. Through a certain solar radiation, the three moons seem to have different colors. The blue moon belongs to an always burning class M3 planet. The green and the black moon belong to Ynos, a planet with a high gravity. Region 4. Rumours say that in this region a big mothership of Zoltar's fleet is stationed. but the agent who had all the information about its equipment, fleet strength etc. was killed while he tried to escape. Region 5. While you make your way you will also pass the planet Axid with its green quite big moon surrounded by an unidentified fog. Region 6. In this region rules a special force of Zoltar. It will probably compel you to land on the moon of Saturn 3. They will try to keep you down, but with enough endurance they can be beaten. Region 7. You now enter a very dark part of the galaxy. The planets here belong to Zoltar's realm for 800 years already. It is said that there once lived highly developed civilizations. Region 8. It was nearly impossible to get information about this region. It is well guarded and shielded. Obviously, Zoltar's scientists are developping new top secret weapon systems here. Region 9. You will come very close to Zoltar's home station. But many ships with aggressive pilots will defend it until their death. Keep watching out for kamikaze-attacks. Region 10. Here, you will meet Zoltar himself... Prepare for the hardest fight of your life. There are two possibilities: You will make history... or you will be history... Good Luck! TECHNICAL INFO If you select KERNAL in the KERNAL/SOFTWARE SPEEDER option the software-speeder won't be used, instead your kernal (for example Jiffy- Dos) routines will be used for loading. This option is useful if you copy the game to a 3,5"-drive (fd-2000/4000, 1581) or to a hard-disk. If you have a 1764/1750 ram expansion, you may like the RAM DETECTOR feature which will use your ram-x to store level data. once loaded, the level will come from ram-x. You can re-read the background-story in the game intro. There, you can use the keys F7 to stop scrolling and F1 to continue with it. Don't use these keys in the end sequence up scroller. In the Options Menu you can select if you want to play the game alone or together with a friend or contact. There you can also select music or sound fx. In the game itself press run/stop for pause. If you don't play with the trainer and you get a high score, this high score will be saved to disk. THE EXTRA SYSTEM OF THE GAME RED EXTRA will increase the shoot-class of your ship: class 1 - standard shoot class 2 - fast shoot class 3 - double shoot class 4 - fast powershoot class 5 - triple shoot Warning: if you have class 5 shoot and collect another red extra, you will have again class 1 standard shoot. CYAN EXTRA: this will regenerate the barriers which protect you from the alien shoots. sometimes it will be better to destroy them by yourself to destroy the aliens faster. but in higher levels they are quite useful, for example against kamikaze attacks. BLUE EXTRA: will give you a shield.
