Default Nintendo Wii - Can I play while laying in bed?

I see all these ads with people jumping around & leaning sideways. Looks like fun. However...

I want to play Zelda (or Mario or Metroid) the old-fashioned way:
    - laying in bed under the covers.

    Can I still do that?

Yeah...you don't have to violently swing your arms around to operate the Wiimote...the ads put out are just to make it looks fun. I mean...a commercial of a guy laying in bed twitching his hand doesn't really look too appeasing. Also people get excited playing it so they move and jump around excessivly.

So it still requires some movement?

a lot of the games you can just move your wrist if you are sitting far enough back. The only thing about using your wrists is that they'll feel like carpel tunnel syndrome is kicking in.

Playing Zelda requires approximately the same amount of movement you would experience using a controller, only in a different way. You slightly shake the remote to swing the sword. I have played dungeons in the game while laying back on a recliner, wrapped in a blanket. The one thing that may cause you problems is aiming the sub-weapons. If you're planning to keep your arms under the covers, the sub-weapons really need you to be able to point the remote at the sensor bar. It's very intuitive, but will be a problem if the blanket is blocking your remote's IR signal,

Put it this way, I finished the entire Wii Zelda while lying on my back in a couch, hands on both sides. It was ultimate laziness.

I've seen a commercial where someone was sitting down and playing Zelda, so I don't see why laying down would be any different. Most of the ads show the people playing the sports games and generally people would stand up for those.
