I've finally taken pictures of my stuff, and my Room of Doom is up now.
http://videogamecollectors.com/galle...g-setup?page=1 Thanks for looking and I welcome your comments. For the rest of this post I'm going to show you my gaming setup! I like to play video games sitting at a desk, with an arcade joystick. I have all my favorite NES, SNES, Genesis and Atari games right in front of me, and my favorite PC Engine, Sega Saturn, Neo Geo,Playstation. PS2, and Xbox games in the shelf just to the left. My favorite consoles are all hooked up and ready to play, connected through chained switchboxes. In the shelf to the left are my Intellivision, Atari 2600, NES, Top loader NES, Intelevision II, SNES, N64, Game Cube, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis2/CD, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, modded Xbox, modded Playstation and PS2. And directly in front of me are my PC Engine DUO and Neo Geo. ![]() The primary gaming is done on a 21" Sanyo flatscreen/CRT with input channels for RCA, Svideo and RF connections. (Atari, etc) Has a nice crisp picture to it! (Though you can't tell here) And the main audio from the switchbox goes to a Magnavox stereo under the table, you can see the speakers on the shelf and tate TV. ![]() ![]() Speaking of tate TV, a 19" RCA XL100 used for vertical games. I use it mostly for vertical shooters with tate mode (Usually Saturn shooters) and I can also play classic arcade games like Pac Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga etc. in their original format using a modded Xbox running MAME. It's also good for MAME's emulation of Punch Out, and Playchoice games with the two-monitor stack. ![]() For fighting games, I use Nubytech SF 15th Anniversary joysticks with a custom overlay. I plan to modify them with Happs parts later on, but that's not a high priority right now.. There's also a PC with Svideo output under the table, and with a PS2>USB adapter I can play MUGEN with this setup! I also use it to manage files on the Xbox, and play PC games of course! ![]() ![]() Here we have my MAME cabinet, a modified "Pro-Play Home Arcade" unit. It was an arcade cabinet made to hold a television and an NES. They were sold at Toys R Us in 1989-90 or threabouts, I got one for Xmas back then! (The one in the ad is a prototype, they did come with the graphics you see on mine.) I've recently changed out the controls, added some buttons and replaced the NES with another modded Xbox running MAME. The little window is nice for the disc tray if I want to play Soul Calibur II or something. ![]() I also keep a notebook, graph paper, pencils etc. handy to draw maps, write passwords, codes, and keep general notes. If I get into a perticular game that's too complex, I'll whip out my stationary and start documenting things. My gaming setup still isn't finished; I still need a Dreamcast, an N64, a Gamecube, and joysticks for each of them.<EDIT- I have them now!> I'm also thinking of getting a racing wheel. I'm not terribly into racing games, but it might come in handy and the table setup is perfect for it. And if I want this to be a truly FULL SERVICE gaming center, I'll need a couple of metal DDR pads. I know plenty of DDR nuts who would enjoy those. (But I'll never use them!) Damn, I'm running out of room... So what do you think, sirs? |

Nice
![]() Some nice posters, and an intersting setup. Although I couldn't see myself sitting on a stool playing anything besides shooters and fighters. I like that Mai statue, where did you get it? |

Mai is a resin kit I bought at Dragon*Con in... 1994? I built it back then when I was just learning modeling. I really need to tear it down and repaint it, it looks pretty rough up close. |

I like your little gaming corner. It's looking really nice with the posters and the shelf of systems chilling on it. That stand-up arcade unit is a cool add-on to the features. What games do you currently run on the Xbox emulation or is it just flooded with ROMs?

I love the setup, it all looks so tidy too. I have half as much stuff as you and it gets all over the place. After seeing how you've got it all put together I may have to steal a few of those ideas.

Nice set up for your TATE TV (DoDonPachi in TATE mode is the bomb!).
You have a lot of Chun Li posters (makes me think you have XXX stuff of her too). My collection is small, but it's alright. I wish I could post posters in my room, but my father wouldn't let me. You are giving me ideas already, thanks. ![]() |

And DoDonPachi in tate is one of my favorite past times. (God, I love that game!) Actually now more of my time is spent trying not to absolutely suck at Batsugun. I really need help with that one. |

[quote="XYXZYZ"]I just played a few games of Batsugun. I think my problem was that I was using the wrong character, I was always playing Beltiana (Chicks in space fighters=cool) but I've just started playing with Iceman. His ship is much more my style, it has great spreadfire and the "A" gun seems more powerful than Beltiana's. It's a lot like the Type C from DoDonPachi, my favorite. Anyway, Since using Iceman my progress has doubled.
You know when Toaplan went out of business in 1994, some of their former employes founded Cave and made the Pachi series. You can call Batsugun the foundation of the Pachi series (look, there's a Bee in Batsugun, and there's a Bee in DoDonPachi, there's more to it than you think). |

I love your setup. Everything's within easy reach, and it looks darn cool displayed like that. Weird question. What kind of table is everything sitting on? I've been looking for a sturdy one to put my MAME PC and X arcade on.
