Default Sega Genesis 1 Ext port

Hello,I was wondering what the ext port on the back of my sega genesis model 1 is for. I read in the manual and it said its for an RGB moniter which im guessing is a computer moniter. Just wondering if anyone really knows what its for

well.. you read about the AV port.. not the ext..
the ext was never used as far as i know.. i heard something about some modem, but if that was ever released, it was japan only.

It was actually a port for, get this (a bunch of people proably won't believe me and will think I'm crazy...er than usual), system link.

I was told this by a good person once that I knew, and they even had a prototype cord for the ext port of the Genesis systems! I was beyond belief at first, but after, over time, seeing the same story and a couple pictures of the same type of cord on the internet, I was eventualy convinced.

I was also told by this person, and saw on one website once, that there was one game that was eventually officialy released for the Genesis to the public that had this system link feature, but I THINK that they took it out before the games public release. The game was, Zero Tolerance.

JUST NOW DISCOVERED!!!! UPDATE IF YOU WISH!!!

As I was checking in the online rarity guide to make sure I had the correct game title in mind that I was talking about in the last paragraph above and to make sure I spelled correctly, I saw something in the game discription that may help to support my story!

    Quoteing the ORGs Game Discription:
"There is reportedly also a link adapter that connects to player 2's controller port and allows two-player action."

Perhaps this is that 'adaptor' that is talked about as myth in the game discription, only it plugs into the ext port and not the controller port... that is unless maybe they made 2 diffrent prototype ways and attempts at system like. Maybe?

Oh well, this is what I know, have seen, and been told. Take it or Leave it!

I believe the Japanese Mega Modem also used the EXT port.

    Default Demo Unit 2?

That helps alot so its for the Mega Net modem and could have been for a link cable. Im also seen it was also for the sega genesis demo unit (up to 7 carts at once) Looks like it in this pic

The Mega Net was the Brazilian modem, and plugged into the cartridge port. The Japanese one was just called the Mega Modem.

Yes! I do now believe I recall hearing about some multi-cart attachment that used the ext port!

Basicly we now that that it could of, and proably during it's lifespan, have many uses!
