Default NES aladdin deck enhancer info please

i'm starting to become curious about my aladdin. i found it in the wild and i'm lead to believe that i'm the only one who's ever done this... and all the way up in the frozen north (canada) at that. this leads me to believe that it might be a promo copy.

did aladdins ever make their way to retail? i know that the dp guide says they were released, but i've never heard of anyone getting their aladdins from anywhere but ebay wholesalers.

other potential difference: mine has room in the packaging for two pack-in games, and does contain two pack in games. one's dizzy, and the other is quattro sports i believe.

i can't recall the specifics because i'm storing it at my parents' house right now, but i'll be there this weekend and post picks if need be.

and i'd appreciate pics of the white cardboard liners inside the deck enhancer box if anyone's got them. i'd like to compare my insert to other ones.

thanks!

I will try to answer as many of your questions as possible:

"i found it in the wild and i'm lead to believe that i'm the only one who's ever done this"

I have heard of 2 other people on the internet forums that said they have found an Aladdin in the wild. They are RARE as all hell to find anywhere except ebay!

"did aladdins ever make their way to retail?"

Yes, they were sold on the QVC channel on tv (I think), I know they were sold on some shopping network on tv, I'm just not positive which one it was.

"mine has room in the packaging for two pack-in games"

I just checked mine, and it definatley only has room for 1 game (Dizzy the Adventurer). I'm not sure if yours is a promo or not, it may just be the Canadian version.

"i'd appreciate pics of the white cardboard liners inside the deck enhancer box if anyone's got them"

I will try to take pics tomorrow, but in the mean time I will describe what it looks like. It has one large compartment that holds the ADE , and one smaller compartment right in found of it that holds that game. That's it.

i believe fox also had some of them. i know because i wanted to trade for them but i didn't have anything he needed.

i read somewhere that they weren't in stores, only on places like the home shopping network or something like that.

they're very hard to find in the wild, but you can find them on ebay every other day or so.

pics forthcoming on the weekend.

thanks for the input so far.

it's probably wishful thinking to think that i have a promo version or whatever, but i'll play the optimist for now.

codemasters/camerica made nothing else that was canada-specific, or packaged differently for canada (with the exception of the game genie being legal and available at retail before it was available in the US) so i would lean away from the possibility that it's a repaackage for the canadian market.

Mike Etler had quite a few of these...I got my set from him years ago.
