Default Games exclusively for Nintendo Gamecube

Okay, by popular request, here is a list of the games that were released exclusively for the Nintendo Gamecube.

There are 397 releases for the Gamecube, 121 of which are exclusives (in one way or another.)

That's 31.93%.

Please note, that this "exclusivity" is only with respect to the PS2 or XBOX.
Some of these games may have GBA or Nokia N-Gage releases (and they do), but as I was only considering console formatted games, I believe that this list is very accurate.

I've spent a LOT of time over the last three days making sure that this is as close to 100% as possible, but I can certainly make mistakes.

If anyone isn't sure if a title is exclusive, or can show that the title exists for PS2 or XBOX, please let me know.

Finally, I'll be adding a "Gamecube Exclusive" tag to the item description for the Gamecube section of the DP Online Rarity Guide.

Enjoy!

Steve

Tales of Symphonia was just released for PS2 in Japan. It may or may not be coming here.

Truly the work of a scholar and a gentleman.

Also, I don't know if you want to include this in your notes, but Ikaruga was originally released in Japan for the Dreamcast.

Is Summoner 2 for the GameCube different than the version for the PS2?

Also, Godzilla Destroy All Monsters was originally a GameCube exclusive til they released it for the XBOX. Not sure if that version is different.

Same goes for Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II.

Worms Blast was also released for the GBA, PC, MAC and PS2.

Yes. In fact, it has a different title.

It was actually released for the PS2 and the XBOX, and they're all the same game.

Now this is actually not accurate. The Gamecube release can be played offline, whereas the XBOX version is online ONLY. By definition, they are different games. However, I did not include that in my list because the online games are the same.

Look closer. While I mention in my disclaimer that many of these games may have been released in GBA format, I didn't (nor wouldn't) investigate PC/Mac releases. This is a console discussion.

However, since you have included a link to a PS2 version, I looked a little closer, just in case I missed something. Yep - it's a PAL version. MANY games were released in PAL format overseas on the PS2.

In fact, there are several games released in PAL format for the Gamecube overseas, and not here in the US. For example: Judge Dredd vs. Death, Butt Ugly Martians, (there are many others).

This list just focuses on US NTSC releases, and in comparison to the PS2 and XBOX only.

I appreciate the info though.

Steve

Awesome list, but the only one that will be subjected to change soon, is Sonic Mega Collection, with it's November release on PS2 and Xbox.

Anyways, this will surely come in handy thanks again!

PSO I & II is on both xbox and GC, the xbox version CAN be played offline but you need an xbox live account to activate the game. However, PSO I & II PLUS is GC exclusive as far as I know. The GC version of I & II has slightly different graphics, xbox has downloads and voice chat. I would say that there are differentish games bu trather similar, although the PLUS version is exclusive.

Godzilla Melee on Xbox has downloadable features and i think one or two extra characters, if that matters.

Great list though!

thanks for putting that list together.

thought it might be worth mentioning that super monkey ball 1 & 2 are also scheduled to be released in a collection called 'super monkey ball deluxe' on ps2 and xbox early next year.

Sorry, I don't know.

I'll leave that one up to someone else...

I think I heard that Playstation is has a higher percentage due to the fact that they are making 1st party games for the PSP which they then port over to the PS2 as new games. Still exclusive to the Playstation.

It was an awesome little system, sadly overlooked and mocked in its day.

To be fair, it's still mocked today I have two of them with a nice selection of games but I still hate that controller. But theres definitely enough exclusives to collect for it.

I don't think this was a Gamecube exclusive. The US version is the same game as Super Bust-A-Move on the PS2, except for some changed backgrounds (according to Wikipedia and the back cover art of both games, anyway).

The Japanese GC version, however, had a four player mode.

Edit: Oh goddamn this is a thread from 2004? Agh!
