The author obviously loves this game, and his descriptions show that. I subtracted some points because of the lack of pictures, and there was no review for graphics, control, and so forth.

I like the way this review was written... it's a fun read, but there's just not enough to it. No details on the graphics and sound, etc. With more info, it could be great!

5 here as well. It's not a bad review, but it relies a bit too much on the reader's familiarity, as well as not quite covering everything. Look at the term "top down" for example. Are we talking a free range top down? Vertical scrolling? It really doesn't cover the details. Same with the music. Also, the "I'll fight anyone" line....very unprofessional.

Sounded like he really enjoyed this game and explained it in his own words how he liked it a lot.

Nice, energetic review, yet is written as if the autor assumes everyone has played Life Force, and therefore knows what kind of game it is.

That said, I applaud the author for saying that Life Force is the greatest shooter on the NES. Couldn't agree more!

The review needs more information. What if people haven't played Gradius? Also there is no review of the graphics or sound. A good base to build upon, but needs more.

While I do love Life Force, I find the review to be missing some things. The sound/music aspect wasn't touched on. Konami just happens to be a great composer of vg music, and Life Force does have some audio that has to be mentioned. Graphics weren't hit on that much either. These too are worth mentioning when reviewing the game... or any game for that matter. I like the reviewer's enthusiam, but the review doesn't reflect just how good Life Force is.

No screenshots or numbers (other than an overall score.) I don't get this line: "Life Force asserts its own personality harder than Blossom at a poetry slam." References only work if your readers can get them and I know I'm a bit daft, but that went zooming over my head.

There's not much content, writer refers to Gradius but doesn't tell us what Gradius is about, there's some weak humour. OK, so you'll fight anyone who says Life Force doesn't deserve a 10/10 but you haven't made much of a case as for why it deserves a 10/10.

    I'll give this one a 7/10.

Actually I enjoyed the READ a lot. Analogies, spurious references, slang... it's certainly one of the lightest and more humorous reviews in this pack. It really doesn't go into much detail about the game's nuances though. How does the game look? Sound? Play with 2-players? These are questions that I'll be taking to my grave, since the writer will likely beat me up if I approach him/her (see last sentence). I like the piece a lot but it's gone too far off of the game itself to be a contender in this contest.
