No I am not making this up. While watching tonights new attack of the show down at the bottom there was reports of a marvel vs capcom 3 game. Don't know for what systems or if an arcade release is in the works. I don't even know when it is coming out. If you have any more info on this let me know.

If Capcom ports the Marvel characters over to that three-button, floaty TvC engine it'd be an actual reason to buy a Wii.

I would LOVe to see a new MvC. I can't tell you how many hours I spent on the old Marvel / Capcom games (X-Men: COTA and XvS).

Whats with the TvC hate? I just got it and loved it.....Is it the 2 character format? The 3 Button format?

I just couldn't get into it. Part of it is every FAQ and forum post on SRK uses the 123/456/789 layout for the movements and I couldn't get used to it.

I hate to say it, but I think the only things on my wishlist I will get are #1 and #5.

Fuck that new SRK notation :P That's why they have built in command lists!

i love the Tatsunoko engine, and given that the game isn't anywhere near as broken as the old Marvel games, by all means I say reuse that and let the same guys handle a new Marvel. I'd love them to combine it with Tatsunoko's properties as well; bring back JJ from Zillion!

2. Completely break Cable so I can, you know, compete in tourneys.

First thing they need to do to is have the power bar lower with each special attack. Right off the bat, this limits the special attack spammers (cable, storm, magneto). Have regular attacks charge the bar and special attacks lower it only makes sense.

Second thing is to have a team of three-on-three with a fourth random character. MvC1 was two-on-two, MvC 2 was three-on-three and now MvC4 will be four-to-four. The max power bar will still only go to level five.

3. Make it 2D (chances of that? less than zero).

Well... It might be entirely possible. The Xbox Live and PlayStation Network have the game out and running fine. Both were basically already forwards compatible from the PS2 and Xbox. The sales figures for the downloadable versions were pretty good as I remember, so maybe Capcom will dust off their animators and sprite editors for another 2D game?

But I ask you: Will it be cheaper/easier to animate 10-15 characters and add them to an updated MvC2 engine or to model and add several dozen characters to the TvC engine?

I am worried that if they go with the TvC engine, they'll drop characters like my beloved Shuma for speed or future DLC reasons.

5. One word: Deadpool.

If you add Deadpool, you gotta include Kitty Pryde. And before you start seriously thinking about an intangible character in a fighting game- don't. Also include Thor, Beast, anyone from the Fantastic Four... Red Hulk would also be a no-brainer. Updating all the Marvel costumes to their modern duds would also be a step in the right direction. 90's Cyclops and Storm, for starters.

New Capcom fighters? Frank West, Dante, Zero. Another Resident Evil character like Wesker. Harman Smith (and six others) from Killer 7.

Exactly, I'd rather see Capcom Vs someone else. Sega, Konami etc Could have some great rosters there.
