Default Nintendo 64 game totals-Need Confirmation

According to my research, there are:

    387 Nintendo 64 games total

    296 U.S. Releases
    83 Japan Exclusives
    4 Europe Exclusives.

I just need confirmation on this, as Im only going for all U.S. releases atm.
    Thanks!

I can't confirm any of this, but I was wondering what the 4 European exclusives were?

I take it you're counting the Japanese exclusives as the games that didn't come out in the US, whether they came out in Europe or not? If you want English text, I'd imagine the European releases would be more desirable, although with the whole PAL vs. NTSC issue, it would be easier to just go with the Japanese versions.

I'm not about to compile a list of all of the Japanese games that didn't get US releases, but there are quite a few interesting releases among them. I find N64 imports very fascinating because so few collectors know much about that scene, so practically the only title that gets any attention at all is Sin & Punishment, which is a darn shame. The Japanese side of the N64 also contains the system's rarest and most expensive games. I don't think any US release can compare to the amount of money that Japan's Bomberman 64 has pulled in on occasion.

Here's my own personal collection of N64 imports, and there are still plenty more quality titles I want to pick up:

64 de Hakken! Tamagotchi Minna de Tamagotchi World
    64 Hanafuda: Tenshi no Yakusoku
    Bomberman 64
    Custom Robo
Fushigi no Dungeon: Fuurai no Shiren 2 - Oni Shuurai! Shiren Jyou!
    Getter Love!!
    Neon Genesis Evangelion
    Nushi Tsuri 64
    Onegai Monsters
Robot Ponkottsu 64: Nanatsu no Umi no Karameru
    Sin and Punishment
    Super B-Daman: Battle Phoenix 64
    Super Robot Taisen 64
Ucchannanchan no Honou no Challenge: Denryuu IraIra Bou
    Wonder Project J2
    Yakouchuu II: Satsujin Kouru

I stick to just the ones that didn't get released outside of Japan, but then you got others chasing after all of the Japanese releases, like Importaku's awesome collection:

I can confirm that F-1 World Grand Prix II and F1 Racing Championship (Not F-1, F1 is the correct abbreviation, Paradigm Entertainment and Video Systems incorrectly stuck a hypen in there for the two WGP games) are European exclusives. They never saw a NTSC release in North American or Japan.

However, I'm unaware if they were released in Australia if that matters.

Are you counting HSV Adventure Racing as a separate game? It replaced the new Beetles in Bettle Adventure Racing with Holden models for the Australian release.

God ok, according to DP's list maker, there are 298 US releases, according to Wikipedia, there are 300, and most people say 296.

    What is it?!?!

Use deductive reasoning. I would suggest going through the list that claims to have the most, and figuring out where they are wrong, and go from there, doing the same with the other lists. Might take some time, but that sounds like a decent idea.

Oh and Taz Express was most definitely only released in Europe and Australia. That's where i imported my copy back in 2002. Too bad there's no way of playing it...

There are 296 North American releases. This does not include counting of cart variants such as Players Choice, Majoras Mask hologram label, gold edition Ocarina of Time, etc.

Nintendoage includes all these variants in their total. DP includes the two variants of Ocarina of Time.

I can confirm that there's 296 standard US releases. This does not include the two Zelda CE's, demo carts, and Player's Choice. If you include all those as separate titles then the list is much longer.

The list at NA is just off. Check out the listings for the Zelda's and you'll see where part of the problem is. They have the CE's listed as separate titles and even list the OoT Player's Choice. There are also some titles that were identical except for having different part numbers. The list at NA includes these as well. The really strange thing is that the NA list includes SOME of the Player's Choice titles but not all of them. Anyway, if you take away all these "extras," then you're back to 296.

The reason the DP list is off is because they have two Zelda OoT's listed and also have NHL Blades of Steel 2000 which was never released. Subtract those two and you're back to 296.

The wikipedia list I have not seen, but I can imagine that it entails a similar situation.
    What?!...Me worry??...HA!!

NA doesn't include all the "variants," only some of them, and DP only has one extra OoT. See previous post.

    Ah, 296.....thanks so much.

I only mean to get at least a copy of each game, no variant, players choice, etc, just the bare 296.

    Thank you!
