RPGs + TG16 = WIN!

Already made my preorder. Though it'd helps to have a link.

unlike that shovelware looking berserk clone, this actually looks like something that could be interesting, I'll add it to the watch list :-)

Hey man, don't talk crap about Insanity. It's actually quite a good game, and impressive considering it was done pretty much by one person, and still took a year. Shovelware.. hahahaahaha

Not only that, but he basically had to figure out how to program for the TG16 from the ground up since there is really no documentation available for it. The music he had to build his own software just to make music for it, it's not something you can whip together with a tracker.

Game looks great! Can't wait to see what the final product will look like.

Hey Blitz, noticed you are in LV, maybe you should stop by and check out Insanity sometime.

Big thanks to everyone who pre-ordered so far! All proceeds will go to cover production costs and for future titles (there are currently three under development).

Doh! Thanks for reminding me, don't know how I forgot about that!

Insanity is a really cool game, definitely just as much worth looking into as this, unless you simply don't like Berzerk. As Oldskool pointed out, Insanity did something HUGE in the TG16 indie scene by creating a quality PSG player. If you've ever checked out the old sound demos people made before, you'd know a few bleeps and bloops was about all there really was .

I would also like to take this opportunity to hint that there is quite a few hidden extras within Mysterious Song, one of them including a nifty, polished little game .

oh I understand it being a milestone, and i'm VERY exstatic to see the tg16 getting some love, but judging it as a game on the system it looked very subpar compared to the rest of the lineup (i watched some of the videos that were posted awile back) it reminded me alot of those 8 billion in 1 cds you'd get for the pc with slight varients of popular games, perhaps i'm not giving it a fair shake, but wasn't impressed from what I saw.

i'm open to giving it another shot since everyone seems to be giving it praise, perhaps I judged a book by its cover?\

You can download a demo for it on the Insanity page to try it out. The music and sound effects are really cool and the controls are ace. Plus it has a boss fight at the end and some really neat hidden extra variations of the game . Compared to the previous two homebrew Turbo games by MindRec, it's a big leap of improvement.

Preorder in!

... but what about shipping price? Is that included, or is that getting worked out later?

Thanks for the pre-order! Shipping costs will be worked out after the game is pressed.

It looks pretty cool, I'll be sure to pick one up when it gets released! With the whole Pier Solar fiasco I will never pre-order a homebrew game again.

I can certainly understand how you feel! The basic game for Mysterious Song has basically been complete for years, we're just in the process of adding the very last things and tuning it all up. We're aiming to have the final version ready by the end of the year and have the pressing order made in January. Beta testing has been going very smoothly so far with smaller bugs becoming difficult to find.

This seems like an awesome game, I love the old school look to the graphics. I would definitely have bought it if I had a TurboGrafx-16 Super Entertainment CD-ROM-ROM System.

You could always pop it in Magic Engine, I don't see any harm in that - if it's the original software.

Mysterious Song works flawlessly in most emulators, with the exception of a very slight sprite overlay glitch in Magic Engine (which I've been testing it most with). Of course I'd always recommend buying a Turbo system just for all the other awesome games on it .

I've been waiting for a reason to bust out the ol' Duo rather than play my VC WIi versions. Pre-Order sent!

Yeah, I might get the system itself one day, if I have the money for it. I'm not really into playing on emulators.
