$50 and free ship isn't bad, but where the hell do they get a "regular price" of $150 from?

Thats what I was wondering... Their discount price is the regular price everywhere else. Price gouging, anyone?

They just throw out a high number to make it sound like they are saving us tons. I know it's BS, but don't care because the 49.99 shipped price is still the best I've seen out there.

Mine just came Monday. What a great deal for just $49.99 shipped, and I just ordered it Friday. While I love it so far, a couple of minor gripes:

I really don't like how in order to change the batteries (4 AA), I have to use a mini screwdriver to take the back off. Also, why AA? Why not a recharable like digital camera's use? Finally, while the huge NES cart has to stick out, it would have been nice if it went down all the way to minimize it. It goes down less than halfway. An inch and a half is clearly wasted.

Now, the positives:

I just tested it with Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (on purpose, to celebrate the release of the Wii version just released). The screen is crisp and clear, and I like the button layout. They didn't get the "A" and "B" backwards this time. Sound is loud. Slightly muzzled, but should be much better with headphones. While a bit thick, the unit (hehe, I said "thick unit") is very light and compfortable. Was a pleasure to play. I can't tell you how well battery life is yet, nor can I say how hooking it up to a TV is yet, but I'm sure the latter is fine. All in all a great deal, I got it here:

I'm already working on the next project and the upcoming E3 show but I do appreciate the feedback.

btw Sega of America, Sega of Japan and AtGames has changed our product names for those Genesis consoles. It's now "Firebox Diamond - Video Game Console" and "Digital Pocket - Handheld System"

This might be asking too much, but how about SD support for the next one? This way we could load the ROMS on the SD and play from there.

An SD slot would we be inviting protest due to copyright this and that IE enabling use of illegal roms. They would have to push pretty hard that its for homebrew only then.

Cannot support emulation.

On a personal level I prefer cartridges just because it's satisfying to find that coveted copy of Earthbound in the wild.

Second, no retro store owner would ever speak to me again if I began distributing anything supporting emulation.

As you said about the Sega System, Should I retitle the thread and what exactly was the new name of the Pluto?

Well, not exactly. Emulators are 100% legal. The ROM's are what would cause problems. So as long as it doesn't include any ROMs, and states something like "Only use a ROM of the actual copy you own", they're fine.

Probably better to start a whole new thread.

Firebox Diamond and Digital Pocket are the product names. Unlike the FCM2 these units are manufactured by another company so I cannot make any changes to them, we're stuck with certain things.
