Default When is new collectors guide due out?

Just went to buy the classics collectors guide off this site and see it's sold out.

It states that a new version is planned to be released soon.

anyone know roughly when this is likely to be?

    cheers.

Though this seems to keep getting bumped, it's still being worked on, not dropped.

I'm planning on taking two consecutive weeks off this summer, just like "the old days", to edit and finalize the book. Then off to the printers and onto the website. Estimated date of arrival, August 2008. I really hope to stick to this date but I'm not sacrificing quality. It's gotta be just right.

I can certainly appreciate that. It's something I'll have to use for a few years so it's worth the wait. Will you offer a premium package on Amazon.com that will include a copy of PDF's DVD and a DP t-shirt? Something like that?

Cool, I look forward to getting my copy.

BTW, I noticed certain older editions of the DP Guide(s) are going for over $100 on Amazon.

Being offered for X= going for.

Amazon is full of people listing outrageously over-priced goods, for the simple reason that it costs nothing at all to do so - and there's a fleeting chance that some mug might actually pay.

Maybe not on Amazon, but directly here on the site there has been package deals offered in the past.

I've seen guides #4 and #5 go for $50-60 on eBay, so there is demand. Not seen #1-3 yet to acquire them...

That's what I hate about eBay and Amazon (marketplace). It's that prices are driven my that one nut case who'll spend out the ass. I've been outbid on cart-only, common SNES games by upwards of $20.00.

Sorry, on a tangent... but yeah, can't wait for the new guide. I'd probably keep it in my car, but I don't want to be one of those dudes at the flea market with the Hawaiian shirt and sandals looking up a What's Happenin' coffee mug in his price guide, rolling his eyes and smirking while he says "I'll give you three dollars!"

I can buy Classic 6 on amazon for 120 bucks right now!

I think i'll have to strike before anyone else notices it up there.

All ebay had were actual digital presses and digital saws and stuff. So not what I was looking for.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Many years ago, thre used to be a store in Passaic, NJ (coincidentally, the town neighboring Clifton, where Joe's store is), that sold old magazines and comic books. When I mean old, I mean they probably had the first editions of Superman and Action in stock.

Anyway, this is about the time when the current edition of Overstreet's Comic Book Guide was #10 (The current edition is #38). The book store sold older editions of the OVerstreet Guide. I asked the guy working there why anyone would buy an out-of-date edition of a price guide. He said that people did.

The current editions of OVerstreet guides now include price lists for all of the old previous editions. Those old copies that I could have bought cheap are now worth hundreds to thousands of dollars. Go figure!

I'm glad I own every edition of the DP Collector's Guide!

Wow... I'd only seen a #1 once before. Well you know where to call should you ever decide to sell

I've seen #3 as well, but not a #2... they were all released in consecutive years, right? Might explain something...

Any chance of getting it printed on nicer paper?

I would surely pay more for a guide with heavier paper and nice, glossy pics of the game box art. Those low-res shots of the box art make me sad. I truly appreciate all the hard work you put into the site and the guide, those are just my two cents.
