Default La Blue Girl or Dating Sim (Hentai) games?

i know that these games are quite popular and my girlfriend gets a kick out of watching La blue Girl, Lady Blue, and La Blue Girl Returns. Did the La Blue Girl series ever make it to a console? if so, what console was it?

I know there are a ton of Dating Sims and Anime/Hentai games out there... Since there are so many, what would be some popular ones for the PC/ps2/ps1? My Girlfriend is a big fan of Harvest Moon and i guess dating sims would be about the same

many thanks

As far as PSone and PS2 titles go... you're really not going to find anything in English. Unless you or your girlfriend can read Japanese I don't really see the point in playing a text heavy import dating sim. However there is Thousand Arms, it's an RPG about a blacksmith who has to date different girls to embue weapons with magical properties. It's quirky, very Japanese, and includes dating sim segments. You may also try Ar Tonlico for the PS2, which is a similar RPG that also has you dating girls, this time to use magic spells. Neither of which are Hentai games.

Actually the best Hentai games I've played, and I'm not exactly an expert heh, was Knights of Xentar for the PC. It's another RPG, with just alot of really funny dirty humor and outrageous sexual situations. And of course naked fairy tale characters. It actually reminded me of a really fucked up Lunar somehow.

That said for straight up "Hentai" Dating Sim, I've tried three different games. Little My Maid, which was as badly written as the title suggest. Absolutely terrible. "Water Closet" which was basically about peeing on people, I dunno maybe you're into that sort of thing. Really funny but I couldn't finish it. And "Nocturnal Illusion" which was actually pretty good. An older game that may not run properly on XP, I dunno. But it was well written and had a good amount of different branches the story could progress along, unlike "Little My Maid" where just about everything you did ended the same way. Oh yeah. And you could fuck a mermaid.

Funny enough I was just going through some of my games of this genre. Are you looking more toward straight dating sims or more hentai / bishoujo games? The Otaku Fridge is the best place to start, take a look in their hentai game review section (formerly Hentai Neko) for adult reviews and info on a wide variety of games. These are all PC of course.

I have the following titles, still a couple of them I need to play through...

Cobra Mission
Fatal Relations
Gloria
Hentai Anime Poker
Immoral Study
Immoral Study 2
Knights of Xentar
Love Potion
Mad Paradox
Magic Polalamin
The Maid's Story
Marble Cooking
Mayclub VR
Metal & Lace
Metal & Lace 2
Nocturnal Illusion
Paradise Heights
Paradise Heights 2
Ring-Out
Runaway City
Season of the Sakura
Three Sisters Story
Time Stripper Mako-chan
True Love
Amy's Fantasies
Divi-Dead
Sentimental Shooting
Tokimeki Check-In!
X-Change
Chain - The Lost Footsteps
Do You Like Horny Bunnies?
Do You Like Horny Bunnies? 2
Bible Black - The Game

If you need help getting started with the genre, just PM me.

Brave Soul is supposed to play like a much updated version of Knights of Xentar, I have it on the way right now.

Nocturnal Illusion is one of my favorites as well (although my favorite outright is Runaway City). If you play NI make sure that you install the patch for the game. JAST USA made a number of edits that cause the game to drift in the darkness at specific points - especially during the parts with Red Hood.

Sentimental Shooting is pretty interesting. It's a tough-as-nails shooter where in addition to shooting enemy craft you have to shoot the clothing off of girls. Divi-Dead is more dark horror mystery than traditional bishoujo game. I've only played a little bit of it but what I have gone through was amazing.

Off hand if it was obtained through non-paying methods there's always a chance that there is an incomplete rip / ISO. I know that Chain - The Lost Footsteps suffered from that problem, with a corrupted executable in the one everyone was distributing. The only thing I can think of off hand is to make sure MIDI sound is disabled or set to CD-DA since if a modern bishoujo game has problems in XP it's usually because of something not set right in the game's MIDI code. I run everything on Win98SE myself but that's because my favorites are a number of older games.

Actually it's a problem I have with lots of older games. I run the .exe and a dos command box briefly opens and disappears. I even tried DOSbox just in case, but I don't even think it's a DOS game. I 'm hesitant to pay $40 for a legit version if it won't even run on my machine.

:/

Yeah, there are some cameos from the first game but it's a different story with a different protagonist. Well, of course it's kinda the same as it's another branch of the Platinum restaurant but yeah. Info here.

Perhaps this should go to off topic since the games under this category are both new and old?

Well during the localization into English a number of scenes were removed due to age restrictions. Here's some information I pulled from a walkthrough that explains it best...

Many bishoujo games include girls who are obviously under the age of
eighteen, making it illegal in North America to depict them engaging
in sexual acts. Most companies get around this by using a disclaimer
explicitly stating that all the girls are over age.

Nocturnal Illusion has two such characters, Arisa and Red Hood.
Despite using the standard disclaimer, the company releasing the
translation of the game still decided to censor some of the images
including the two girls; the pictures of these girls' sex scenes are
replaced by a blank screen. To get around these points in the
original game, one basically had to click frantically on the screen
until the game moved along.

Fortunately, a guy known as BaSFTech made a patch to correct this
problem. Version 1.1 of said patch will restore the deleted scenes in
the game. You should be able to find it on teh intraweb with a little
effort. I'm only including this information here because it should
greatly enhance your enjoyment of the game, don't email me asking for
it. I have no knowledge of how the patch works, so don't email me if
you're having problems installing it. That is all.

Instead of reworking the program code to simply remove these parts from the core gameplay, you basically get an unpopulated screen that you have to blindly navigate through. What sucks is it's not simply a matter of clicking through it since there are choice trees during some of these blacked out parts. In other words it's possible to get stuck.

J-list.com has tons of H-games and dating sims for the PC, many of which are in English.

I think Himeya does too.

Tokimeki Check-In is one of the more popular ones.

I read a few months ago that the U.S. won't allow several hundred titles each year due to questionable material. The majority of this material is the Japanese based click and point sexual-esque type. Evidentally, Japan has a significant market for gimic games where seeing a naked girl, uncovering a naked girl, playing hide and seek with naked girls, and playing puzzle games for naked girl pics are in demand. The average consumer for these games is considered to be the 25-40 year old working class demographic (in Japan). So in short, learn to read Japanese or look for some of the cheapy overseas ports floating around on ebay and enjoy.

My boyfriend and I both enjoy dating sims, including hentai ones, but neither of us seriously find cartoon girls arousing. Hentai is always worth a laugh, though, and some dating sims have genuinely fun gameplay.

Anyway, the best dating sim I've ever played is Getter Love!! It's only in Japanese and it's on N64, so it's probably not a very helpful recommendation to most people. It's really a blast to play, though, and it's totally unlike any dating sim I've ever played or heard of. Heck, I've never even heard of another multiplayer dating sim. If anyone happens to want to know more about it, I have a very lengthy review of it here: http://www.inverteddungeon.com/triac...overeview.html

Just arrived today and it works perfectly on my Windows98 SE box with the included installer and default settings. Changing the framerate from Auto to 60 smoothed the game out considerably but it worked fine before then. Again, I'd try messing with the sound settings or killing the audio outright. You may also want to try a lower screen area resolution as the game does click back and forth between the desktop when changing between the intro movie and the game itself.

As for the game it plays kinda like Diablo with the mouse interface. Graphically it looks like a nicely rendered 2D Saturn RPG and feels kinda like a TurboDuo / TurboGrafx-16 CD RPG in terms of style. The voicework is very nice as are the character illustrations. I didn't play it for long though as there are a lot of other games I need to finish before I can tear into this one.

La Blue Girl -School of Lust- (淫獣学園 La☆BlueGirl) was released for the PC-98 in 1994. Don't know how much it has to do with the Animation though, and I've never played it.

Honestly the best bang for your buck to get into the genre is the JAST USA Memorial Collection. 15 bucks gets you three of the most famous hentai games and also three of the best classics of the genre. Even better they've been slightly enhanced and reworked to work under Windows XP. Three Sisters Story has a very interesting plotline and of course I've already said that Runaway City is my favorite bishoujo game of all time. Season of the Sakura is also generally considered one of the best bishoujo games ever made, it lets you experience a year at a Japanese high school.
