What would be really awesome would be if you were successful and kept doing this and moved on to the 1989-1994 era and so forth. If it works you'll be able to continue making money just by having fun and writing about it.

The benefit you have from trying out all this stuff is that you get to try a little bit of everything.
I've had a blast working on these books, especially when discovering great games I'd never played before (such as Killer Bees! for the O2) and revisiting old favorites (such as Mario Bros. for the NES). Also fun was the buying trips and having a great excuse to purchase lots of games (as if I'd ever needed an excuse before).

I plan to continue the series and am working on the third volume now.

I will be sure to buy your next volume when it comes out. The last two are oustanding. Keep up the good work.

Hey, I just wanted to say I really liked your recent piece in Video Game Trader. I just got my copy yesterday, and I loved it. Great stuff.

    Glad you liked it!

I have real hope for that magazine. It seems to get better with every issue.

Anyone not in the VGT loop should check out their website:

Wow, looks a good book, and I see you've written more.

Mind you the first book (1972 - 1984) is a bit cramped with 4 Generations of consoles in one book:
    1st gen: Magnavox and Pongs
2nd gen, Atari VCS, Fairchild, Intellivision, Odyssey2 etc
    3rd gen Coleco, Vectrex, 7800, 5200
    4th gen 7800
