I thought the policy at Nintendo for customer service and maintenance was 20 years. 1983 + 20 = 2003. If it is true that new Famicom units were manufactured all the way until 2003, it makes sense for there to be a few extra years to cover the new units made, or else someone buying the new one would have a product instantly out of warranty. XD
I agree with the above, but with MM1 you also need to consider that the higher value of the 5 screw variant skews the average higher.
The Famicom Rockman 5 is super cheap and only like $10-15
