Super Monkey Ball 2 - 8 Bracelets - anyone done it?

A friend & I have been struggling with the 8 Bracelets stage on SMB2 since last night - have been playing for hours.

Have any of you ever actually completed this level?

You cannot use "SMB2" to describe Super Monkey Ball 2, that is already reserved for Super Mario Brothers 2.

That's the one with the big vertical rings that you have to jump between, right? Yeah, I've done it. I don't like it, but I've done it. Heh.

its not too bad once you get the hang of it, just like most of the later boards, you have to go at full speed to clear it. the first couple of jumps arent too bad, but the last one requires you to switch directions, and its a pain to go against your momentum, while keeping the camera at an angle where you can still tell where you are going.

its nowhere near as frustrating as the launcher stage

Yeah, I've done it. It takes some practice, but so do all the later levels in Super Monkey Ball 2.

I know, but this one has, so far, defeated us. We had a gaming get-together of sorts - I drove out to Pittsburgh with my Gamecube, Dreamcast, and a few games for each and we played all weekend. Super Monkey Ball 2 dominated the weekend.

Since returning home Monday evening, I've been working and haven't had a chance to even unpack the games yet.

But prior to this level we'd been moving along pretty well. Even Launchers was nothing compared to 8 Bracelets.

I'll have to try and find time to re-attack it this weekend.
