Almost forgot that I had these. I took them about a year ago when John and I scouted some locations on the west coast last year. The Hyatt was our FIRST choice but they didn't have the dates we needed for 2004. We decided to see how the San Jose Convention Center would work out and though the place was certainly spacious, it was just a little TOO much for our show. Most everyone I talked to agreed that the intimate environment of CGE was completely lost there.
So off we go to Burlingame, CA. The Hyatt is a gorgeous place and you can walk to the train that takes you right into the heart of San Fran, a 5 minute trip.
Looking down from the 14th floor of the hotel. Down there is the atrium, places to eat, etc. Not the show area, that's just off to the right.
Here's where you'd pick up your tickets.
Just beyond that, the entrance to the main hall. To the left you can get back to the atrium area.
Here are a few pics of the main hall. This is about the same size as the Plaza ballroom from our Las Vegas years. There was a doll show going on when we visited.
This room will be our keynote room.
There are two other rooms that we'll decide how to manage. A museum, a swap meet room, maybe something else.
Then there's this outdoor covered pavillion. This room may be used for a Saturday concert, a really big party, or some combination of those things.
These people were really good to us when we were out there. Check out this sign we stumbled across while passing through the lobby. They also took us out to breakfast and the menu was printed with the CGE logo on it!
