Yeah, but i finished that level and the game in NES version...LEVEL 57 IS A NIGHTMARE...but with a little of practice and pacience...
on gamefaqs there is a breakdown of when exactly to make your move and try to head upwards. It is helpful
Eyes - Pete and Pete, Bullet Ballet
Ears - Exploding Hearts , Tattle Tales
Hands - Neutopia II, NBA Live 05

I love Bubble Bobble but in 1 game I usually can only make it like 15 levels down (At my best).
Egbert, I miss you...
BB is an addiction that can consume your very soul.

if i'm remembering right, 57 is the one with the icicle dudes. it's pretty easy if you do it 2 player. just have your buddy shoot bubbles in the middle while he dodges the icicles and hop on them and bounce to the top. nothing too difficult.
If by yourself: kill the shark guy (bubba?) then immediately go near the edge of the screen on either side and blow bubbles into the center *almost* as fast as you can for about 5 seconds. Wait for your bubble ladder to straighten out, then 'climb' the bubbles by jumping *beside* them and holding down A. Hold down A till you're at the top then quickly eliminate the space invader dudes. I've got this level down to a science now and can usually beat it in about 30-40 seconds.
On the topic of Bubble Bobble, my current record on one 'game' (ie: not using a continue) is level 93 on the nes version. Can anybody beat that? And has anyone here beat the game (real ending) without using a continue on the nes version?
"And remember ladies: if it ain't tight, it ain't right!"
Level 93 with no continues? Egads...
My sole experience was with the Game Boy version, which wasn't so bad, really. It even had a boss every 25 levels (and the Level 50 boss was frequently much worse than any of the other levels).
What happened to Guido, anyway?
