What, no Night Trap? C'mon, that's gotta be there just for its notoriety!

I only need 2 more NES games (US)!
Definaetly add Vay. maybe rotd.
Hell yeah Vay any day over Cobra Command and Time Gal!
Newbie here, who is actually familiar with the Sega CD. I've rebuilt a few and currently own a CD-X, X'Eye, 1st gen with a Sony drive, 2nd gen with a JVC drive, and another 2nd gen with a Sharp drive. Want to get my hands on a Pioneer LaserActive.
Anyways, my picks (much more than 20):
Lunar: The Silver Star (Working Designs, Game Arts)
Lunar: Eternal Blue (Working Designs, Game Arts)
Vay (Working Designs, Sims)
Popful Mail (Working Designs, Falcom, Sega)
Keio: Flying Squadron (JVC)
Snatcher (Konami)
Shining Force CD (Sega)
Dark Wizard (Sega)
Heart of the Alien: Out of this World, Parts 1 and 2 (Only Sega CD version has the sequel to the first OOTW) (Virgin, Interplay, Delphine)
Prince of Persia (Sega CD version is unique with different levels in comparison to the original) (JVC, Broderbund)
Road Avenger (Renovation, Data East)
Time Gal (Renovation, Taito)
The original "Night Trap" (Sega, Hasbro, Digital Pictures)
Robo Aleste (Tengen "Atari", Sega, Compile)
Silpheed (Sega, Game Arts)
Sonic CD (Sega)
The Third World War (Extreme, Micronet)
The Adventures of Willy Beamish (Sierra "parent company of Dynamix")
The Rise of the Dragon (Sierra "parent company of Dynamix")
Panic! (Sega, Data East)
Mickey Mania! (Sega CD version is the best) (Sony, Disney, Traveler's Tales)
Road Rash (Electronic Arts)
The Secret of Monkey Island (JVC, LucasArts)
AH-3 Thunderstrike (JVC)
Revenge of the Ninja (Renovation, Taito)
Pugsy (Psygnosis)
The Amazing Spiderman vs. the Kingpin (Sega)
Batman Returns (Sega)
Final Fight CD (Sega, Capcom)
Android Assault: The Revenge of Bari-Arm (Sega, Human, Big Fun Games)
Wing Commander (full speech, different music, graphically most faithful to original) (Electronic Arts "parent company of Origin Systems")

Dude go to ebay. There is a mint conditioned Pioneer LaserActive for $100 with a Karokee Pac. Spiderman vs. Kingpin is a great Sega Cd game.
Thanks. Although, I'm willing to bet that the price will go higher than that.Originally Posted by attilathehun
There is a benefit to owning a LaserActive as there are Sega MegaLD titles (like a SegaCD, only that it's on the 12 inch LaserDiscs instead of a CD-ROM) that can only be played properly on the LaserActive.
If I were to get one, I would also have to try and find the TurboDuo module for the LaserActive. - Reinhart
sewer shark is great.. my all time favorite game for laughs-

sewer shark is cool also! take eternal champs off!!! horrible, slow responding control! all right i guess i'm done ranting. thanks!
I say put on Robo-Aleste over Final Fight CD. As sweet as Final Fight is...Robo Aleste is a fantastic shmup.

I'll add another vote for Silpheed. Great gameplay, highly addictive, excellent graphics and a fantastic soundtrack. Not to mention the fact it's got that whole "obscure 70's sci-fi show feel to it"......which I just adore!
Plus I also love Road Avenger - the animation, despite it's jerkiness is great and it's gameplay, whilst simplistic, is addictive and playable enough to make this an enjoyable title for the Mega CD.
I am very new to this website and I found it through yahoo by looking for sega cd games~!!!!! Thank you for this website. Recently my original right sided sega cd broke down ( would not read cd ). I had to buy another one from ebay =[, a sega CDX~!!!! oh yea for a very high price but It is something I really want. Anyway my favorite game on here would have to be VAY wow, this game and Suikoden 1+2 made me put in on any survey for RPG to me is my genre. Another one of my favs on CDX is Lunar 1 and 2. Very RPG aint it. hehe thats what I like.
Thsi thread needs more action:
I nominate Earthworm Jim: Limited Edition for the top 20. It's the best and only Jim game you need.

Seeing how the last post was so long ago, I felt the need to get something going. Since the games can still be found cheap on ebay, garage sales and online shops. Here's a list of my Top Sega CD Games.
Silpheed
Dark Wizard
Lunar: Eternal Blue
Eternal Champions
Lunar: Silver Star Story
Popful Mail
Shining Force CD
Final Fight CD
Snatcher
Sonic CD
Vay
Flashback
Rise of the Dragon
The Adventures of Willy Beamish
Mickey Mania
Robe Aleste
Batman Returns
Android Assault
Terminator
Sewer Shark
Earthworm Jim
Honorable Mentions: Lethal Enforcers II, Panic!, Road Rash, Night Trap, Prize Fighter, Time Gal, Secret of Monkey Island, Heart of the Alien, Amazing Spiderman vs Kingpin
I love this console. I just bought a Justifier Light Gun to use on Snatcher and Lethal Enforcers for less than $10. Anyone interested in a good time playing games doesn't need broadband or -Craft in the title. Pop in one of these older games and you'll get pulled into gaming when it was pure fun. Too bad they didn't port Steets of Rage to Sega CD.
Lords of Thunder > Android Assault.
Just my 2 cents.
Seconded! Let's lose NHL '94...Originally Posted by ewrann

I was just about to mention this...Lords Of Thunder is a great game & well worth a top 20 spot.Originally Posted by evil_genius

I am another one to add to the list of Sega CD fans. I pretty much agree with all the recommendations so far, but I would aslo add Dracla Unleashed. Even though it's an FMV, it's still a half decent one. Also, add Adventures of batman and Robin. Pretty crappy game, but pretty damn good cutscenes! I SO badly wanted to love Willy Beamish, but those load times were just unbearable!
As far as imports, I would add Urusei Yatsura, Yumimi Mix, Final Fight CD (just for the extra little uncensored parts), and 3x3 Eyes.Originally Posted by whitewashedmex
I'll just comment to say that given the bad reputation the Sega CD has, it is good to see so many games that are being debated for a Top 20. So the system has a lot more "good" games than people like to admit. Obviously, we aren't having trouble thinking of 20-25, or even 30+ "good" Sega CD games. Funny how a few a**holes (not on this site) like to practice revisionist history and say that the Sega CD was a "failure."
It doesn't belong in the Top 20 but the Sega CD does a great version of FIFA International Soccer which I've never heard any praise or reviews for online. Too bad, since it is an excellent title.
