I'm mainly looking for romantic games. The year doesn't matter. You hear the music here, and here? I found it easy listening at about 4 am, 5 am this morning, staying up all night. Although strangely now that it's daytime I'm no longer in the mood.
But thanks for those links Aussie2B; I'll check them out, and anything anyone else mentions.

Well, if you want eroge that has great music, you could look into the titles that Ryu Umemoto composed for. Not only is the music highly regarded, but the games are too (YU-NO, Eve burst error, etc.) Here's an article by a friend of mine about YU-NO: http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/yuno/yuno.htm
And while I'm linking to HG101, you could give True Love a try: http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/truelove/truelove.htm
There's nothing especially remarkable about True Love, it's basically Tokimeki Memorial with sex, but given its historical impact for the genre, it's sort of seen as the quintessential hentai game in the US.
Thanks. I 'd sen that article but forgot abotu it. They took the title of the game from Harlan Ellison ("Beast that shouted love..")
At what point did the PC-98 lose that FM sound that games like Sorcerian and Snatcher are known for, that you hear on the Hoot sound emulator? (Maybe Wikipedia answers that: "NEC's decision to work with Microsoft to offer a PC-98 compatible version of Windows 95 could be seen as the first step towards the PC-98's downfall, as consumers were no longer required to have an NEC-built system to run software designed for Windows.")
There was this one tune I recorded years ago, but I never knew the name of it because it was in Japanese. Here, let me upload it. Probably not from an eroge game, but what the hey, maybe somebody knows it and can tell me: http://youtu.be/mJT5N2NAR6g
Actually there was two. It sounds more lovey-dovey, so maybe it is eroge. http://youtu.be/jN630lhwYCU
Speaking of "lovey-dovey" I searched that word out of boredom and one of the first links on Google is this!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8zo5-EutB8
T=Ara!!! Yess!!! Now I'm totally in the mood for an eroge game!!
man, if only they'd use this kind of music and dubstep and other cool stuff in video games. Can you imagine Uncharted 4 with dubstep and k-pop? I can!!@ It'd be so muhc more fun than that stereotypical who-would-have-guessed-it Indiana Jones movie crap..
And then you hear music like this during a boss fight? It would be intense!!! And scary
But video games are always so boring.
Just recalling various reviews I've come across over the years there's the Dragon Knight series which was mostly a comedy RPG series, and there's Kana: Little Sister which supposedly received several high reviews. Plus there's the various KEY games like To Heart, Kanon, Clannad, etc. Most of the KEY games seemed to be made into anime series with the erotic content removed. I've heard of the animes before knowing about the games they were based on, some of the games were apparently re-released with the adult content removed to make them more mainstream. One more recent title I've heard of was Katawa Shoujo as it was developed by a group of 4chan members as an indie title, it supposedly got good reviews too.
There's a notable difference between story/plot based games with some erotic content and the sleazier games that are just excuses for full pornography. Stay away from the horrible RapeLay style games.
You know I saw the title and thought I'd pop in with some smartass comment about erogenous games, only to discover that actually is the point of this thread. Never heard the genre called that before.
Anyways as far as Hentai games go I really enjoyed Knights of Xentar (of the aforementioned Dragon Knight series) awful game really, battles literally play themselves. But the dialogue is hilarious. I'm all for witty and occasionally perverted banter between characters.
Also played Nocturnal Illusion which is a visual novel adventure game. Wasn't bad. Actually had a game to it, which given some of the crap I've downloaded appears be a rare quality.
If I remember correctly, I think I read that the developers at KEY actually don't particularly want to include adult content but do so in the first release of their games just to conform to the standards of the PC visual novel industry. The clean versions are produced in much great quantities and sell a ton more.
I haven't played any of KEY's games myself, but if the anime is reflective of the stories in the games, I'd recommend them just based on that. I checked Air out at the library basically just as a joke since the covers of the DVDs made it looks like the most horribly annoying moe crap ever. I expected to hate it, and I was amazed at how quickly it sucked me in (and this is from a jaded anime watcher that isn't easily impressed). I still don't care for the style of the character designs, but it's a captivating, beautiful story in spite of that. I hear the anime version of Clannad is a real tearjerker too. I'd love to play the games someday, but I'm not sure if any are available in English (and from what I know, they're pure visual novels, so it's solely about the story, without any of the game-yness that can make dating sims and such fun even in Japanese).
Thanks everyone for the replies! Will look up these titles later
Nah, according to VGMdb, that was Masafumi Ogata.
Oh, that reminds me, Hiroki Kikuta, the composer for Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3, Koudelka, etc., has done a few hentai soundtracks. I know nothing about the quality of the games and they probably aren't available in English, but I can vouch for the music being great, assuming you like his style. They sound a lot like Secret of Mana actually, if Secret of Mana was a happy-go-lucky dating sim, haha.
I watched the TV series. Haven't seen the movie version yet.Which Air? the tv series or movie? Both were somewhat different but the same in the end. I think I preferred the movie simply because the girl's illness was not just a case of the jitters. That and the ending of the tv series just had me scratching my head when the events repeated but without the guy.
