I don't know what my favorite jingle is but when I read your description, I was watching this on youtube:

I didn't care much for the Crossfire commercial jingle. The best thing about that tv spot was the one kid with a big mullet.
But kids with mullets were pretty common in 1980's (and early 90's) toy and junk food commercials.

You mean this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV1hv6L0R74
"The first to get their balls in Mr. Bucket wins. But lookout because the balls will pop out of his mouth" For some reason that never seemed dirty when that commercial was new. |

Going back to the 1970's for a moment: I had this old toy called a Ricochet Racer. One version of this toy had a Marvel Comics motif, and the jingle was typical of the hit-`em-over-the-head mentality when ad men write this stuff. It was this growling male voice singing (screaming) something like "Ricochet race to the target! Spider-Man races Captain America! In! Spider-Man Ricochet!". Still stuck in my head over 30 years after the fact.
I had one of these, but got bored of it pretty fast. So I took the gun part and tried to make my own shrinking ray out of it, but that's another story. Last edited by Pantechnicon : 11-03-2009 at 08:43 PM. |

Mentioned it in another thread, but found the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gr8MZOVl8rk
"Knockout - it'll knock you out!" And not a jingle, but... "I'll use my broadsword!" "FIRE OF WRATH!" |

"MOONSHOES! MOONSHOES! ANTI-GRAVITY SHOES, MOONSHOES!"
The amazing part, they used the same commercial 10 years later. They didn't even reshoot it. |
