Did early PS2 games have different cases?

Games i own with the new style ps2 case are, (all bought brand new)
Soul Nomad & the World Eaters 09/25/07
Mountain Bike Adrenaline 10/09/07
The King of Fighters XI 11/13/07
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum 12/17/07
Call of Duty: Legacy 11/14/07 (this is a double case game, both games have it)

Other games that are claimed to have it, (I don't own these, so can't confirm)
Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock 10/28/07
Transformers: The Game 06/26/07
Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights 09/17/07
Devil May Cry - 5th Anniversary Collection (there are 2 versions of this box set, i think only the white box version would have the new cases.) (Unsure when white box version came out)


Some fairly new games that do have the memory card case, (i own these)

Swashbucklers seems like the odd man out so far, i wish i had some more "new" release games, but i tend to wait till prices go down for the new games, before i buy them.
