Default Is this a proto or a copy for nes california raisins?

Have seen my share of protos but can't tell unless I'm looking at the actual board. Anyone else have another way of detecting burned roms from protos? Usually when the label is very nice and glossy, its a sign that it is a recent burn. Here's the link of an example:

Can't believe someone would even pay that amouth or even $148.50 for a copied rom.

Its a copy. Only one proto is known, some kid bought it off some lady trying to sell off her kids games at a videogame store along with a bunch of other prototypes. There was no label for this, anything with a label is just a repo.

It's nice of Ebay to have a "Report this item" hyperlink near the bottom of every auction

The only known proto to surface was found by Brandon Murphy (AKA Brandver3. See: http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99622 ) and did not have a label.

As far as that cart goes, see Leonk's site http://www.nesreproductions.com/

Didn't the original just say "Raisins" on it or something? I can't remember. Was it on the little EPROM window label?

This is hands down a proto! I'd pay that much for it!

    *rolls eyes*

Yet, there really are people that WILL pay that much for a repro.

My Collection - Well, kinda. One of these days I will actually get a pic of the whole collection and post it on there. Until then, I only have a few games in there with some additional collection info stuff.

Thats "Brandver3" and if you haven't read the current thread about him you should.

There was another found after his was dumped for a total of 2 that I know of.

Wow, very sad story. Senseless murder, fucking unbelievable.

Who found the second cart, and when/where did it happen?

I messaged the seller, explaining very civilly what he has and that it is a copy, just in case he actually believes he's telling the truth. Chances are though, he's trying to scam someone.

The seller of this game bought it 8 or 9 days ago for $100!

Thanks everyone for clearing it up. I guess the seller was doing the pyramid scheme with this game. Bought it for $100 figuring it was rare and valuable and that he could resell it quickly for an easy profit. The sad part is there are people willing to pay his amount. Proto scene filled with to many fakes, don't need the headaches. But good looking out for the rest of the gamers, hopefully these "collectors" will learn to distinguish between real and copies
