I just recently bought an onyx Nintendo DS Lite last week. Although I've played about 6 games total on it, I can say that Trauma Center: Under the Knife is an almost must-have game for the DS, also Feel the Magic really utilizes the different functions of the DS well, it's not as addicting as Trauma Center. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is also a very unique and very good DS game. Im interested in this post, too. I can't wait to get some more kick-ass ds games.
My top three are: Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, Super Mario 64, and Mario Kart DS.
15? Sorry, I don't even own that many. But there are some really worthy purchases out there.
Two absolute must haves IMO would be Trauma Center: Under the Knife and Kirby Canvas Curse. Both games utilize the touch screen very well, offer a challenge (that's right, this is the first Kirby platformer to ever feature some form of difficulty :P), and are highly replayable.
Other high quality games I recommend (not must haves but still very good) are Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, and Pac 'N Roll... yes, I'm serious about that last one. Pac 'N Roll seems to be an overlooked, underappreciated DS title, probably because it's based on Pac-Man, an over-whored Namco franchise. It's a little on the short side, but it's a solid 3D platformer that utilises the touch screen 100%. It also has some tough challenges to complete after the main quest if you're up for that type of thing.
A few of these are listed already:
Sonic Rush
Nanostray
Warioware Touched!
Elite Beat Agents (import)
Meteos
Feel the Magic
Asphalt Urban GT (surprisingly solid racer)
Enjoy!

C'mon, New Super Mario Bros. has got to be near the top of that list. That game got me to put the PSP down for a few weeks.
And let's not forget Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
I look forward to giving Rocket Slime and Mario vs Donkey Kong a spin.

I've got right around forty-five DS games, and looking through them I actually had more trouble than I expected narrowing this list down to fifteen. But out of what I have I feel this is the cream of the crop:
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Castlevania: Dawn of Souls
Contact
Dragon Quest: Rocket Slime
Jump Superstars
Kirby: Canvas Curse
Mario Kart DS
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis
Mega Man ZX
New Super Mario Bros.
Ouendan
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Trauma Center: Under the Knife
WarioWare: Touched!
Phoenix Wright is simply one of the most well done handhelds Ive ever played. Buy it next time you have a chance.
Welcome to Macintosh.
Feel the Magic: xx/xy
The Rub Rabbits
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrows
Super Mario 64 DS
Mario Kart
Ridge Racer DS
Wario Ware Touched!
and some others that I cant think off...
Here're my favorites, in order of preference:
1) Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
2) Ossu! Tatakae! Ouendan (hopefully Elite Beat Agents, the forthcoming American version of this title, is as good as the original)
3) Monopoly/Boggle/Yahtzee/Battleship (yeah, that's right--Boggle on this thing is like crack cocaine)
4) Contact (I've only put five or so hours into this so far, so depending on how it holds up it'll go way up or way down on the list; I love it so far, though)
5) New Super Mario Bros.
6) Electroplankton
7) Trauma Center: Under the Knife
8) Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
9) Super Princess Peach
10) Animal Crossing: Wild World
Also, I have to argue with those who put Mario Kart DS on their list. It's by far the worst in the series, and despite the fact I've played the hell out of it, it just really isn't that good or fun.
I also have a soft spot for Cooking Mama, which would probably be #11, but instead gets an honorable mention. Also, in the last 24 hours I've bought Magical Starsign and Touch Detective, but of course haven't played either enough to really weigh in on them yet.
Feedback thread here
There are already too many good DS games to mention. The challenge is to pace yourself, so you can move from one game to the next without any long periods of waiting. I've still got three games to get to (Nintendogs, Lost in Blue, Trace Memory) once I've finally finished Rocket Slime.
Games I've spent most of my time with include: Rocket Slime, Brain Age, Animal Crossing, Zoo Keeper, Mario Kart, Matroid Pinball, Meteos, Castlevania, Advance Wars, Yoshi Touch & Go, and maybe Cooking Mama for short bursts.
Tetris and New Super Mario Bros. are great, but they tend to have short life spans for me. Mario is terrific as always, but it's such a cakewalk, and that really hurts it. More of a nostalgia trip than anything. And Tetris is probably best for wifi.
I'm looking forward to Clubhouse Games (which is too damned expensive) and Trauma Center and Phoenix Wright. Oh, and I still have to try out the DS Wario Ware.

I thought everyone found WarioWare Touched to be much too easy and not nearly as good as previous WarioWare games.

Okay, so buy one when FF3 comes out then. What does Sprung or Trace Memory have to do with it?Originally Posted by Chainsaw_Charlie

My top 10 :
Animal Crossing : Wild World
Castlevania : Dawn of Sorrow
Dragon Quest Heroes : Rocket Slime
Lost Magic
Mario & Luigi : Partners in Time
Metroid Prime Pinball
New Super Mario Bros
Phoenix Wright : Ace Attorney
Trauma Center : Under the Knife
Zoo Keeper
The list will surely change within the next month with Final Fantasy 3, Contact and Castlevania PoR![]()
I beg to differ, sir. I rank it right in the middle with Double Dash and MK 64 being the best, and the SNES and GBA versions being the lower end of the pecking order. I personally feel it's the best handheld racer out there.Originally Posted by sirhansirhan
Since school has started, I only play about 20 mins or so of videogames a day, and that's pretty much all Animal Crossing DS. I bought it last December, and I bet I've missed no more than 10 days(in total) of play in the past six months.
My other DS games sit on shelve, rarley getting touched.
Speaking of Trauma Center, the 3(maybe 4) level ticked me off so bad I've probably only touched it once since the day I got it. I new what to do, but I wasn't fast enough to suit the game(as hard as I tried I couldn't get the patients health to stay high enough.)
Well im about to trade for itOriginally Posted by Jorpho

I still haven't beaten 1/2 of my other DS games because I'm still playing Advance Wars DS...and I didn't even start the campaign mode yet. Also, I just got every single soul in Castlevania DS, which took me a few months.
Too bad we can't edit our posts so that a cumulative top ten list could be maintained on the initial post.
Anyhow, nothing gets played more at my household than my DS. I LOVE IT. Here are my fave games thus far:
Meteos (highly addictive!)
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Elektroplankton (eerie and relaxing)
Tetris DS
Nanostray
***If you have any Transformers toys or Three Investigators books, let me know.***
I finally found and bought a DS Lite today. I thought I'd bump this thread to see if anyone had any recent additions they would like to add. (I've taken note of the ones mentioned)
Games I picked up so far were Castlevania PoR, New Super Mario Bros, and Metroid Pinball.
There are also some cool games on the way that I have noticed and seen talked about here as well.![]()
