Game gear internal battery?????

DId the Game Gear have an internal battery? Mine has gone faulty and someone told me to replace the internal battery. I didnt think it had one.

I've opened up a couple of them and assure you that there's no internal battery inside the Game Gear (why would it need one, anyway?)

What sort of "fault" are you having with your GG anyway? Let's try to get you barking up the right tree here...

Ok,
To start with the screen would come on for less than a second then go off again. I tried new batteries, power supplies but no difference.
I decided to take it to bits and now it works for 50% of games with a very poor contrast picture and if the contrast is adjusted it switches off (sometimes).
I did not change anything inside and guess its a screen problem.

Sounds like the power hardware for the screen itself has gone out.
