Anyone know what it is going to take to restore this to full functionality? Game can be played, but not seen. Something is wrong with the control panel? I don't see it.. Maybe I am missing something. Help!

What stonic said. The good news is that the board is working. If you win it, have fun getting it out of that guy's basement.Originally Posted by GrandAmChandler

Selling collection, Atari through XBox. Send a PM with whatever games you're looking for.
Also, just to make sure before I bid, that's a conversion right? According to KLOV, it looks like a different cab body style. Maybe tat's why there is something fishy with the control panel.Originally Posted by stonic
One last thing since I am ignorant in this, in theory could I put an X-men, Simpsons, or Turtles board in that sucker?
Thanks guys.
Yeah. The CP looks different because it's smaller than the big 4-P CP and the CPO had to be cut down to size.Originally Posted by GrandAmChandler

Or if it's a loud whistling, it could be a bad flyback arcing to the frame. Either way if it stays cheap I'd say it's a good deal since if you have the skills, repairing the monitor shouldn't cost more than $30 in parts.

Well I got the cab, obviously a conversion, but not too bad. Needs some paint and some side art, and a new piece of Plexi cut for the control panel. Obviously the symptoms are still there that I discussed before, but hopefully eventually this can be restored to working order. I can hear the "NAMOR!" shouts of the game, coins up great, and I heard the beat'em up sounds, just can't see it ;-)
Scott, when is the next time you are driving up to Jersey? Care to stop by 5 minutes off of I-95?![]()
First cab ever acquired! It's a beater, but it was cheap and makes me happy just looking at it.![]()
That is a Wrestlefest conversion. They made a lot of drop-in kits for that cab. Super High Impact was one of them.
Likely it has a 19" K7000 monitor in it, if it's the original monitor. Can you look on the frame and find a model number?
On the flyback (a black boxlike object on the chassis with a red wire coming out the top) you'll see two pots, one for screen, and one for focus. If you turn up the screen control, does the monitor turn white?
If the flyback's bad, and if it's a K7000, they're cheap at about $25. As low as $20 if you can find them on sale.Originally Posted by DogP
If it's bad you'll know it. Turn it on and look at it, it may be throwing sparks or even smoking.
Yup... on K7000's I've seen quite a few that melt through the flyback and short to the metal mounting bracket... it makes a loud screeching/whistling sound, and if you open the back door you should definately see the bright blue arc.

Well this is way overdue. I got caught up in doing adult things like fixing up a house. Anyways, the problem ended up being the monitor board. Stonic took a look at it, and determined that it needed to be sent out, so we did, and it looks great! I was really worried the monitor wouldn't be good or damaged, but everything looks pretty good! I have had a few friends come over and play, and they love it. They want me to put in X-men or another beat'em up to switch it up.
The controls work, but I may replace the buttons with brand new ones, just because. Sound is loud and clear, and monitor bright and sharp. All that's left now is some cosmetic work on the control panel, and paint the sides and apply the Spiderman side art. Many thanks to Stonic for his expertise and work.
