Don't think this one has been done before....not counting handhelds, because it gets too confusing with all the various incarnations of the Game Boy, not to mention that everyone would pick the Virtual Boy anyway

I voted for the Gamecube. While a great console in it's own right with some truly great games, it just doesn't stack up.
To me it lacked the brilliant 1st party games of the N64, and doesn't even compare to the greatness of the SNES and the NES IMO.

I voted the cube. When I read this topic's title, I immediately thought "virtual boy". it wasnt there so I picked the gamecube. Its not that I dont like the system, in fact I love it, its just that I like the others better.
I DON'T LIKE NES
ALSO: VIRTUAL BOY FOREVER!!! www.vr32.de !!!
N64 due to lack of RPGs, overrated top games, and stupid controller.
very difficult for me to choose a least favorite system. I chose the Super Nintendo, mainly because I never really got into it as much as the other 2 units; however, I've been playing the heck out of mine lately.
I really liked the N64 controller and the games for the system was just wow! The NES had so many great games and accessories. It seems as each Nintendo system comes out, there are less and less 3rd party controllers/accessories.
N64 by a hair over Gamecube. I own and still play all four listed systems, but the N64 has not held up well over time. There's really only about 5 games I still play on it to this day.

N64 easily for me. BTW, no disrespect to anyone, but whoever picks SNES is flat out wrong :P
It's got be N64. Tiny game library, terrible controller, bad format, high prices, and the reason that Nintendo is no longer the king of kings.
Although it's a much better system than most.
Alert the internet.
Couldn't agree more. The SNES might be my favorite system of all time. So many classic games in all genres.Originally Posted by Steven

N64, mainly due to not enough good games, and the horrible controller.
I agree. I find it hard to believe that anyone could disparage SNES. Then again, it seems Gamecube gets a lot of hate but it was far and away the best system of this generation in my mind. I think in ten years people aren't going to have much fun collecting or retrogaming on PS2 or Xbox but Gamecube will have held up.Originally Posted by ryborg

I'm going with the N64. It was a letdown compared to the NES and SNES, and as we all know, it cost Nintendo a lot of third-party support. Along with that, it had a controller with an awkward button layout, and the quality of the control stick makes finding a good controller on the used market somewhat of a chore. The console wasn't easy to develop games for either - examples include the fogging in games like Glover and Superman 64. It was lacking in shmups, RPG's, and fighters. And then, there were nearly useless addons that Nintendo never fully utilized, such as the transfer pak and that microphone used in Hey You, Pikachu!
And yet... it was still a quality system, with a good selection of enjoyable games (even if the majority of them were first party). The controller was still comfortable, and in the rare moments that it was frustrating to use, the game you were playing was usually to blame.
The n64. I only played a couple games in stores.
I didn't get it due to lack of balance for some genre's. I am into action rpgs, zelda-type games, turn based rpgs, Strategy-rpgs, puzzle games, retro game like Konami Classics, old school shooters like Raystorm. The n64 didn't offer that to me.
The n64 has too many racing games compared to rest of the genres. It lacked rpgs. Nintendo was out of touch at that time. They stick to cartridge, which was a mistake. They had the attitude that they had plenty of rpgs for their system when they didn't. They also alienated the rpg crowd at the time by saying rpgs are for people who don't have any lives and ruined them in Japan at least.
No Disrespect, Picking the nes and the snes is wrong. The nes was great overall system that its major weakness was arcade ports and felt the wrong system wrong in that era due to nintendo's 3rd party policy. The nes had a lot of classic games. The snes was a great system. It's only weaknesses were sports games compared to the genesis, and slowdown in some game games. The snes had plenty of classics and was very good in most genres.
I picked the N64. It really was a big disappointment for me. Anyone else remember the looooong, agonizing waits between good games coming out. Good Lord, there would be months and months that went by without anything. Kind of like the Cube now.
3,582 games and counting! Pics of tons of stuff!

I voted the Cube because the games are not as good as the other systems. There may be more games on the Cube than the N64, but there are less good titles. Goldeneye alone elevates the N64 above the Cube. It is not as good as the SNES, NES, or what the Wii is shaping up to be.
I picked the 64 for in my opinion the controller sucked pretty
bad, also the Fact theat no matter how many times I play it
on any different connection the graphics are a blurry mess,
so blurry in fact that it is near impossible to tell that the games
are running in any higher res then a PSX game, infact the PSX
IMO had a whole world better looking 3d.
Yes i do have a big N64 console its just that it blows hard compared
to the awsomeness of the other consoles IMO.
zomg I have a sig
I'm usually someone who welcomes other opinions or points of view. But I don't see how anyone who played all four consoles (by that I mean grew up playing them) could vote for anything other than the N64. It has some all time classics (Mario 64, Zelda OOT, Bond) and some other very good games (loved Ogre Battle and Mario Kart) . But to me only 20% of the library is even worth putting in the console, let alone playing for any extended period. For some reason the bad games on this machine are so much worse than bad games on other systems.

I'm not voting on it..I like all the Nintendo Systems
