PS3 preorders "MIGHT" start tomorrow at GS and EB

I just got off the phone with a manager at my local EB store, it was actually 10 minutes after the store closed, but the manager picked up and had a quick chat with me nonetheless.

I asked him if Preorders for PS3 are going to start tomorrow. He said, "most likely". He told me that it's very possible that when they arrive at the store to open it up for the day, that when they check the emails, they could very likely have instructions for taking preorders starting at 10am when they open up tomorrow.

Now, he did say, that it's not absolutely for sure, that it could be delayed till Wednesday or Thursday, but he said that if you want to make sure you get a PS3, you better be at a GameStop or EB games at 10am tomorrow morning, and check to see right when they open.

The only reason that I would even consider pre-ordering one of these deals is to re-sell it. And if there is not a shortage at launch (which is possible since the price is much higher) then there will be no money to be made.

Let me know when Wii pre-orders start. I'm all over that. I'm guessing that they will start on Wednesday after Ninty's press conference tomorrow.

Um, at some Gamestops there is already a list of people in line to pre order....

ANd I'd have to wait untile the end of this week before I decide to drop that much down for the PS3.

There will be a shortage, and it will be dramatically more severe than the 360 shortage. You have to understand, that it isn't just going to be video gamers buying the PS3.

Just check out this thread at AVS forums. These are all Home Theater nuts, and they want it just for the fact that it's the cheapest way to get a Blu Ray movie player.

The PS3 will be sold out, and will be even harder to come by than the 360 was, and that is saying something. Prices on Ebay will certainly pass the 2 grand mark if you time it perfectly.

As for the Revolution, I mean Wii, I thought GameCrazy was doing pre-orders for that a long time ago?

I doubt they're going to let the PS3 be another 360 situation. From everything I've gathered, GameStop will be announcing when PS3 preorders start and they'll only be preordering a certain number per store.

They're covering their asses this time because Microsoft left them WIDE OPEN last November.
