Double post, please delete.
Theres a bunch of Not for Resale Xbox games. and all of them are pretty easy to get used except the sports one (that slips my mind at the moment) and Halo. Halo is so out there in its (5 yes 5 versions (original, Chrome GOTY, regular GOTY, NFR and Platinum versions) that the game itself isnt rare, just the NFR print on it thats annoying to get for that variant hunter. And i've been seeing a decent number of Halo XBox's lately to boot which only +'s up those NFR Halo's.Originally Posted by Chrome
I didn't mention Halo 2 only because its everywhere. I don't see a gamestop/EB that doesnt have at least one or two copies in it at any given time.
Some true hard to finds for me have been
Spy Vs Spy
DDR Ultramix Big Box version (the one with the pad). Hell all the Big Box'd Xbox games are annoying to really get ahold of.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Safe to say that it's the single RAREST Xbox game, I've seen other aforementioned rare titles in store shortly after release, but not this one. You can't even find this game easily on eBay nor half.com, while some rare titles are abundant online if you're willing to fork out the $$.Originally Posted by Emuaust
So, we have
Roller Coaster Tycoon
Marvel vs Capcom 2 (I sold a sealed copy for $100 last year)
What about Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu Action Figure Collector's Edition? Finding one that hasn't been smashed up in the back room is pretty hard, and I don't often see copies in any condition. In fact, I've only seen two. I know 15,000 were made, but the original 50 or 60 dollar price was quickly slashed to 19 when it was clear that no one wanted it.
The big box Rainbow Six 3 with mic is probably just as annoying to get as the Batman is (in a un nuked case). All the ones I ever saw were at Circuit Cities and they had Security Spiders on them, crushing the boxes.

There's actually a 6th version of halo out there that's incredably rare. It's a not for resale version of the original cover art. It was only availible to microsoft employees who worked on the xbox. It was only availible for a few months too... Actually, almost all xbox games have a "not for resale" case design for the microsoft employees. Once they ran out of the initial stock on the halo NFR, they switched to the standard cover art.

Thats is not a variant."although it does have the not for retail case" Its simply the sticker they slap on shit when you buy it at the Microsoft store.
Ive seen it on Bloodwake and some others.
"I just reread what you posted"
It is another variant. I thought you were referring to the sticker.

I'd say the Rainbow Six one is harder to get by far. I have four Rise of Sin Tzu's in new condition sitting in a draw that no one will ever buy all for $19.99. They're not going anywhere.Originally Posted by PapaStu
I've never seen that one... crap. Another Halo to get. :/Originally Posted by ProgrammingAce
I've seen numerous other ones with those stickers, but as far as i've seen they wern't NFR versions. Just regular releases with those stickers that wouldnt ever come off the cover.

I've got about 50 games with the same little green "Not for Resale" somewhere on the bottom. They gave up on doing the special cover art for the microsoft store sometime in '03 or '04, so after that they should all be the same as retail. I'm sure it'll be a pain for those who try to collect cover art variants... Here's a few more:

Just too many varients for Xbox games, now, what about those Best of The Platinum Hits? Ouch!
Nope it was only in Europe (oddly I think we got the XBox and PS2 and no GC version at least I've never seen a GC one)Originally Posted by goatdan
Metal Slug 4 is relitively easy to find in the UK at the moment and Metal Slug 5 is released the end of the month here. so it might just be the US copies that are harder to find.
Over here metal slug 4 & 5 were released as a double package game where you got both disks.Originally Posted by Arcturius

I'm surprised to see that I have some rare Xbox games (TJ & III and Roller Coaster Tycoon), along with one that is potentially rare in Spikeout Battlestreet.
I just got a new game called Championship Bowling, which the store has ONLY ONE copy, I wonder if this will be rare? No, I don't plan to keep it sealed, it'll be opened up and played.
I checked eBay, only one copy listed now, quite unusual for new release

I have not been able to find Jurassic Park Operation Genesis anywhere. :/
The Day of the Dog Begins!!!!!!!!!
kakuto chojin was mentioned already and ive seen them around a few times but i heard that there are 2 versions of the game - the first one with the content it was banned for and the re-release with out the content
can anyone back this up? if so wouldn’t the version with out the banned content be the rarer one?
what remember reading --
kakuto chojin was banned for some kind of Arabic chants - it was pulled and re-released with out it in there - then pulled completely because they were not selling at all
when this happened i remeber people selling the game with the comments that the version they are selling is the banned version

Speaking of collector's editions, There was a collector's edition Tony Hawk's american watseland.
Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast is pretty hard to come by from what I have seen and heard. Also, Whiteout looks like another candidate for a rare title. I don't recall seeing it in stores, at least not recently, and there are currently none on ebay at all (even completed auctions).
I can't recall ever seeing this either.
I'm trying to get my hands on Airforce Delta Storm atm. No luck out in the wild so far....might have to resorty to Ebay for this one.
My local Gamestop has a disc only copy of Spike Out....I'm so tempted to pick it up, but alas my completist side will not allow it.
Crazy, I saw a copy of Spike out at Wal-mart the other day, I have never seen a copy of Roller Coaster Tycoon though

I don't think it ever got a release in retail stores and if it did it was in really low numbers. I remember seeing it for both PS2 and PSP in stores (well, Toy's R Us) but i never saw it for Xbox.
I had to but it off of Amazon (from Toy's R Us, when they still were affiliated with Amazon).
"Futurama" still eludes me.
