Default Anyone seen this type of SNES system box before? (PAL)

The box is really unusual I dont think ive seen one of these before.. its pretty much plain white, but in the top corner is the Nintendo logo in black and

    "SNSP-S-CD(V)-UKV"
    "MADE IN JAPAN"

The bottom of the box has a black sticker saying distributed by THE GAMES LTD, Eastleigh etc etc

Does anyone know the origins of this type of box? Is this R@RE?

Could be a refurb direct from Nintendo...

Here in the States, refurbished game consoles get plain-ish boxes similar to that one... so it's possible. That would explain the condition... who knows?

I just noticed that cartridge says StarWings. It's obviously StarFox in the US, but I thought it was LylatWars in the UK?

    Later,
    Chrome...

I know I've seen one of those before, but can't remember the details :/ Factory refurb sounds like a distinct possiblity though.

Oh, and Lylat Wars was just for the N64 incarnation - the original StarFox was known as StarWing.

Ahhh... factory refurb.. yes, I had my suspicions

    Still, a nice curio?

Yeah, as Anagrama said, StarFox was called StarWing here in the UK/Europe.

I believe this was because there was a Commodore 64 game already called "StarFox" so they had to change the name for copyright reasons.

It's definitely a UK box because of 2 reasons:
    - UKV code on the box
    - THE GAMES sticker, they were the distributor in the UK of the SNES

Refurb was my first idea too. I have a Channel F system in a similar, white plain box. I've seen Imacs in simlar plain boxes. Refurbs almost always have plain-looking boxes, no matter what company.

I never saw it. Looks kind of plain though. I like the box with Super Mario World stuff on it. Sorry I could not help.

It's either a refurb box, or it's an in store display box.

I'm actually leaning towards the display model box myself.

That's what I was thinking as well. Possibly packaged with a kiosk.
