$40-50.00? I hardly ever see it for less than $70.00. I jumped on the chance to get it for $56.00 shipped. At this moment there's a German guy selling an arcade PCB for $280.00US.

Damn, damn good game though. If you like stuff like Dodonpachi you'll probably like this.

All of my disc based games still look like they just came out of the cellophane, so one with even a slight scuff won't do.

It's not that hard to keep all your CD ROMS in pristine condition, no matter how much you play them. You just have to know how to insert and remove them properly.

The best way is to have you Saturn modified with a chip that will allow you to play back-ups. However, you evidentally have to make sure you get the right chip for the right model... a chip meant for a round-button Saturn will not work in an oval-button Saturn, and vice-versa.

I've heard of a disk-swapping method, but I understand it's a fantastic way to kill your Saturn.

The Saturn just didn't like to be modified, Jack. Plus it's discontinued so you can't take it back. It seems to be one of the toughest consoles to hack, in fact. Funny how the follow-up Dreamcast was such an easy nut to crack. That's wack. I don't have a chipped Saturn... it's something I lack. I love my Saturn, but those big-ass boxes are so hard to pack! You have to have the nack. I smoke crack.

You'll still scratch them, if only slightly - eventually it'll happen. Even if it's a light scratch on the inner ring where you press the media onto the drive...it'll get scratched!

Well I only care if the shiny parts get scratched. And I really don't play any of my disc games enough to worry about it.

The only thing that bothers me is my Sega CD. I need to get one of the model 2 versions. I don't like sticking my discs in the tray on the model 1 version. Mine got stuck in the closed position with a disc in it once, and I had a devil of a time getting it out. Luckily the disc wasn't damaged when I finally did manage to get it out, but ever since then I've been very reluctant to put any of my games in there.

But if there is nothing that actually makes contact with the disc itself except the laser, then what exactly is scratching the disc? I still say if you know how to insert and remove the disc properly, it will never get any scratches on it. That is the only time that the surface of the disc could possibly make contact with anything that could potentially scratch it.

A seller name rxmdx on Ebay(Who's also the best person to deal with when it comes to Saturn) sell them time to time. A complete one went about $50+ last time I checked. And a one with B rated manual and no spine card went for $40+. His prices are fair and sometimes great imo.
