Go into sparring mode and choose exercise. Work you're ass off here and you'll learn. You could also try joining our weekly DOA4 matches. Normally it's on sunday but this week it's Friday Night Fights.

We'll gladly teach you the error of your ways.

    Block all the time
    Dont bother countering
    Stay back from opponent
Learn one of the bastardish ninja characters, probably hayate.
Basically block all the time and be ready to attack quickly when there's an opening.
All you really need to do in DOA4.

Oh ye of little skill. While blocking and quick attacks are useful, every character is built different. Some characters are built around reversals and throws and if you can learn them you can seriously beat on the super Ninja's.

Need i remind you about our little matches and Bayman.

The best thing to do is pick a character and learn them. The Ninja's are easy to play so start off them but then you may want to work your way up to one of the more skillfull characters like Bayman, Ayane and Brad Wong.

Remembers that throws ignore blocks and that counters really turn the tide.

Tip 1: Get a large padded surface to place next to your TV so you can throw your controller at it over and over.

Tip 2: Take the game out of your system to prevent further harm to yourself or your surroundings.

If that's your advice for DOA4, which on the whole is pretty easy, i hate to see what your advice will be for NG2.

I definitely need to get re-accustomed to the countering system in 4...but yeah practice practice practice.

See, thats what really bothers me. I BEAT Ninja Gaiden. I didn't put it on easy was there even an easy mode?), and I beat the damn game. I didn't find Alma all that hard, and the game had the perfect level of frustration/difficulty.

But in a fighting game, it's nearly impossible to find that balance because by nature they're so repetative. Being frustrated with the same end boss in DOA4 every 15 minutes is far more infuriating that getting stuck for a couple hours on a really tough section of an action game.

Ha very true, though i suggest you read the DOA4 guide on GameFaqs. They've got Alma's pattern and once you learn that pattern you can pull off GREATs against her.

Still you're right, it's far more frustrating to be hung up on a boss in a fighting game rather then in an action game.

Thanks for all the tips, including a large padded area. I will practice, and meet you all online. It won't be tomorrow though. I play darts on Friday nights. Likely next Sunday when you resume I will try to be on.

I do like the game though, it is great graphically, and the interactive settings are cool as well, even though they tend to hurt me more than help me at this point.

    1. Stop playing DoA4.

    2. Start playing a good fighting game, such as SFAC.
