They began investing and researching in 2001... It doesn't surprise me that something this new (in the gaming market at least) has taken a few years to be developed.

You can go to Best Buy right now and get a keyoard and mouse setup that utilizes that technology. It's not new tech, just new to the console gaming industry.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

Interesting. Now we know where the tech went!

Off topic, but has anybody else seen the touchpad Genesis controller? I recall seeing one on eBay that you could sorta move your thumb across instead of pressing a direction on the d-pad (I think).

I had an NES controller like that once. Strange.

Yes, but then it probably would have just been some dumb gimmick that no one paid much attention to, instead of being a huge part of the console experience.

I agree completely. Same thing with the DS. No one wants to play with a stupid touchpad. . Nintendo is so stupid, with thier gimmicks.

I had a genesis pad years ago that used gyroscopic technology. You could move it left or right and it would move left or right, and if you sort of 'jolted it' it would press the A button.

    Hah, that's exactly it.

    Oh, guys, this just in:

Atari did NOT invent the joystick. Like, whoa, they had them on airplanes and stuff long before then!

But the Revolution controller doesn't use gyros, it uses a more sophisticated version of the PowerGlove technology.
