What 360 game are you getting first?

I thought I'd join in all the 360 pre-release insanity, and decided to ask all those getting a 360 -

What game are you getting when you pick yours up? I was debating PGR3 since Full Auto was pushed back. The only other 2 games I've actually seen are Call of Duty 2 (which I already have on my PC) and DOA4 (which looks sweet, but I'm not really into fighting games). I think Prefect Dark Zero would be my second choice. My 3rd would be Kameo. I have no Idea what it's about, but it's always nice to try out something new.

I'm not buying a driving game 'till someone comes out with a steering wheel controller for the 360, so I'll probably get either Perfect Dark Zero or Call of Duty 2.

Well, right now Kameo is in transit from GameFly to my house. The next game they are likely to send me is NBA 2K6.


I'm planning on starting another GameFly account tomorrow, and hopefully with that one, they will send me Madden and Project Gotham Racing.


I also might get a Blockbuster 2 game pass, if the Blockbuster by me gets a decent selection of 360 games.

The first game that I plan on popping in my 360 is NBA2K6. The graphics on that game just look totally insane and I wanna see if it's really as incredible as it looks. The next game I would like to pop in is Gotham. Just because I know they've been working on this game forever, and it's a showcase game for the 360. After that, I'll probably throw in Madden to see if it's a joke or not. I've heard that Madden is going to be a dissapointment. But I still have my hopes up.


Actually, there are alot of 360 games that I wanna play in the first couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I'm only going to be able to have about 6 360 games in my possession at any one time. I might get the Costco Kameo bundle, and then I can send Kameo back to GameFly for Perfect Dark Zero. If Perfect Dark Zero is $44.99 at costo, I might just buy it there. Same thing with Gotham.

Although I'll buy the little machine early next year, the first two titles are clearcut for me: PGR3 and Kameo.

I played Kameo for about ten minutes, and my gut instinct tells me that it will be THE surprise hit for the 360.

PGR3 is a must because I loved the series from Metropolis Street Racer on.

So far the launch titles look very promising: well balanced, there is something for everyone, and if the gameplay holds up to the early pre/reviews MS did it right. If you're good it what you're doing, a head-start is an advantage for sure.

Halo 3. I don't think the improvement in graphics is quite enought to warrant me getting a new console. But that's just me so I will probably be waiting for Halo 3.

Condemned: Criminal Origins or Perfect Dark Zero.

Although im getting like 8 games with my system those are the ones im going to play first.

I'm not buying an Xbox360 but if I win one in a contest, I'd probably get Gun. I always say they never make enough western video games so I'd have to support the release of one by getting it. And if I don't win the XBox360, I guess I'll buy this game foro the regular Xbox.

Perfect Dark and Kameo are my first choices. I'm also looking intently at Madden, NBA 2K6, Condemned, PGR3, THAW, and DOA4 (provided it's out by the time I pick up my 360).

On a related note, I was surprised to see actual, real Xbox 360 games already on the shelves in a couple stores I've been to. They didn't have prices, but they were there ready to go.

If I was picking one up, I'd probably go for NBA 2K6 myself.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with the notion, but I don't understand why there's such a consensus that Perfect Dark Zero ISN'T a potential 'killer app'. Can someone explain this?

deff. perfect dark zero, thats like one of the main reasons im buyin the system, then im gonna wait a few days to hear your reviews of games before i pick up any of the other ones, but perfect dark i dont really care i will love it i know it already

Well since my buddy and I play Halo 2 quite a bit, we've already struck a deal to both get Perfect Dark Zero as our launch titles. We played that game all the time on the N64 so we're both excited about it finally seeing the light of day again.

The very next title on my list will be Ridge Racer 6. If not for PD0, that would be my #1 choice, but PD sporting a new look and new gadgets, along with online play, has my #1 vote.

And PD0 may or may not be a killer app (it all depends on how good it is - the name can only carry it so far), but it's going to be the proverbial crack rock that gets everyone from Halo 2 to Halo 3 probably.

probably going to end up getting DOA 4 since thats what the wife wants. I kind of like Ridge Racer 6 otherwise. Nothing too special to me on this launch line up.

Well I already have Kameo (it was first, I have a complete Xbox 360 collection!!!). At least a couple more games will make the shelves this week, so I may have those next, whatever they are.

I actually am eager to play some of my Xbox games on the 360. I read that there will be some graphical improvements to them. Not sure if this is just because of the 720P output, or superior rendering by the Xbox' hardware...so in a sense these are 360 games I already own...

Call of Duty 2 was awesome looking when I played it...

Now I am really undecided on what game to get. I really can only afford one, but I am deciding between Kameo, Perfect Dark, and Quake 4.

Really though I wanna see more video footage of these games, and beyond a few really old videos and like 1 new one, these games have little coverage from what I can see on gamestops site. I also wanna read reviews. I hope kameo is good, because I love platform adventure type games.

Can anyone direct me to a good source for upcoming 360 games to help me decide? I like in game video footage best.

Definitely NBA2k6 and then 2 more probably Condemned and maybe Quake. I could be and hopefully am wrong but from what I saw live of Perfect Dark I was not too impressed. I was waiting for that one but I will definitely have to rent it first.
