if it all boiled down to it, i would have to say SMB/DH. every thrift i go to, i see at least 2 copies. I once saw 10 priced at all different prices.

Somebody once told me to get a life.
I told them I sold it for money to buy video games.
According to the Guinness Book of Records (1999), SMB is the best selling console title ever, therefore it is the most common one. On Computer, they list 'Myst', so that must be common too.
That's easy, the Super Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt cartridge for the NES.
I think Pac-Man would actually be more common than Combat, in retrospect. Think about it: they made two Pac-Man cartridges for every one Atari VCS that was made. I wonder how many Combats exactly were made.
And, also, SMB/DH is another obvious answer. The local pawn shop has about 30 copies, just lined up in its own shelf. Just can't seem to get rid of them.
Don't remember all of the classic console pack-in games, but I would think these carts would be the most common. They came with the systems, so everyone would have one.
2600 = Combat / Pac-man (I think it was the pack in later on in the 2600's life)
Intellivision - wasn't it Las Vegas Blackjack?
Odyssey2 =Speedway/Spinout/Crypo-logic
ColecoVision = Donkey Kong
and so on.....
the 2600 being the most popular classic system, I would put the combat (or Pac-man, if I'm correct on that) as the most common 'classic' game.
As for more modern consoles, where they stopped putting in a pack-in game, that would have to go by sales figures, of which I'm not an expert. And, since the modern systems have 'way' outsold the old 2600 (in number of units - look at the Gameboy for example), there is a decent chance that a modern game in the most popular. I just don't know what it is!? x_x

By far, it has to be SMB/DH. Just be sure to go down that hidden pipe and warp many, many levels ahead. And why could you not shoot that damn dog for laughing at you?
I have to vote for SMB/DH being the most common, I mean... it was packaged with just about every NES console, which ended up being EXTREMELY popular. Other systems had pack-ins, but I don't think they did half as well as the NES did.
THe game that I always see the most of has to be smb/dh without a doubt...
The most common common is also the most common response.
It's laughable how many SMB/DH's there are out there!Imagine if, 20 years ago, you knew that people would use these things for footstools.
... and yet this ?We live in a strange, consumer world.
curious...the box of the game is rare.... the game cart & manual is common (sell with the console)Originally Posted by ozyr

Sonic 2 seems to be more common for the Genesis than 1 to me. If you go in a store and throw a rock it'll hit a Sonic 2 cart. At least that's my opinion.

For dreamcast I have to say crazy taxi. There are at least a 5-1 ration to every other dreamcast game. Often times much much more.

Up here in Canada, it's not the Maddens and the NBA games that flood the Genesis market.... it's those damn EA NHL games. They are EVERYWHERE!!! A dime a dozen.
Nintendan
Super Mario Bros/ Duck Hunt
I always though pitfall was right next to combat and pacman I always see a million of'em

Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt is definitley one of the more common ones...but I probably see copies of Fester's Quest for the NES the most. It seems like every used video game store I walk into...I see at least 2 - 5 copies of that game.
