Alcohol Pads

Would using alcohol pads work to the same effect to clean cart connectors as alcohol on a Q-Tip to clean them?

If you can find a way to the same amount of pressure on them as the q-tip's, they should be. I used to use a popsicle stick & paper-towel combination with alcohol myself.

Reason I asked was we don't have any regular rubbing alcohol in my house outside the pads. I was thinking rubbing the contacts hard with the pads then drying with the Q-Tip myself, or tape the stick to the pad to rub it.

Worked good, got gunk off and games still don't work.

I still would highly reccomend Armour All Auto Glass Cleaner instead of Alchol works wonders for me!
