...Donkey Kong Country Competition cart... I doubt that the Competition Edition has save game.

If I'm not mistaken, the DK Comp Pak has a battery inside. It had been discussed that the pak may maintain a list of scores that had been made on the game and through some elaborate controller input, the list could be retrieved. It's never been confirmed, but a battery in a non-save game is suspicious.
