Default Who picked up PS2 Metal Slug 4 & 5???

With all the teeth gnashing over the "evil" Sony forcing SNK to bundle these two, I figured someone would have picked this up by now. (Unless it's not really out yet, honestly I'm looking this afternoon.)

So, who's got it? Loving it? What'd ya think???

I'll admit, these aren't my favorite instalments in the series (I think it peaked aroung X and 3.) But I'm going to have to pick it up anyway to hold me over till I pick up the MVS carts. Still, looks good and I'm glad you get two games for $40.

I didn't buy it, but I played it at work yesterday, just Metal Slug 4. 1st and 2nd stages only.

I love it, no load time at all in between stages, blood is intact. I'm very impressed by Sony making this bold move.
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

I'm conflicted.... I want it now... but it will be out on Xbox later this summer..... I just might have to get both. Don't know for sure. I'll figure it out by the end of this weekend.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

I can't imagine that there would be much difference in this game between PS2 and Xbox. It's not like there are outrageous load times or any opportunity to show off a graphic advantage.

    Go for it dude.

I can think of ONE good reason I'm waiting for the XBox version.

Better sound hookups, faster loading times, saving to a HD as opposed to a memory card, better controllers.....

    Need I go on?

    XBox > PS2 whenever possible.

    Plus online score ranking.

The PS2 version was $29.99 at Fry's but I'm also waiting for the Xbox version. (And selling my PS2)

Isnt Metal Slug only mono? Or maybe stereo. Dont see how it would be better controllers tho, for games like this I use the directional buttons, not the 360 stick. Anyone use the 360 stick for platform games? Sounds hard, but I guess you can get used to it.

I picked it up today and i am very happy with the purchase, i had 4 for MVS for awhile but sold it on ebay about a year ago.

i wish they would have released them seperately for $20 just so the covers would look a bit cooler.

Ive got a modded xbox and mame loaded and i certainly wont be picking this up.

Imo 4 is 1-3 stuck in a blender and then 4 popped out. The gameplay in 5 is slow crappy and the bosses are outrageously hard.

As for the stick its great although myself i decided to buy an arcarde stick for it and it works a treat.

I use the D-pad too, but that makes me more likely to prefer it on Xbox as I don't like the broken-up D-pad on the PS controllers. As for the sound, I don't see how the hookups would be better as the PS2 has digital output too (unless he only has one optical input on the receiver and the Xbox uses that).

Does anyone know if the Xbox version will support progressive scan? Metal Slug 3 didn't.

I never played Metal Slug 4 or 5, and I'll get them for sure!!

The only reason I'm holding out for the Xbox version is that Metal Slug 3 is on the Xbox, and I like to keep a series on one system.

Maybe the new release price will be also cheaper for the Xbox. I'm cheap anyway. I guess it is $30 now, right?
