I heart gradius, I wish I could play gradius 2, I loved lifeforce and the third gradius for SNES though. I have never played the GBA or the PS2 versions however...

Many a sleepover was spent on 2 player lifeforce.

Who wouldnt want to fly a space ship and shoot tumors with eyeballs and stuff?

I will play through Gradius V on one credit as many times as I can to celebrate Gradius's birthday. One of my favorite shmups series. I wish I had all the games in the Gradius series. Gradius is an incredible series if not one of my top 5 of all time. Anyone who doesn't have Gradius V already should go get a copy to celebrate this landmark.

Well, I may not be playing Gradius 2 on my x68K at the time ( LOL ), but I will certainly have my copies of the various x68K games nearby! :) Scramble itself must be getting to be 25 soon.

Check out the opening CG sequences in Gradius III & IV on the PS2 - some of the best CG work in gaming history IMO.

I actually have a copy of Gradius' swinger sister Parodius (Sexy Parodius to be exact) on the way right now.

Gradius' 20th birthday will be signaled with the blasting of a 24 hour stream of music from the series! Well... until the neighbors call the cops and make me turn it down.

Never let konami developers see that statement, cool as the thought may be.
I'd hate to see gradius ripped from 2d and put into 3d. :<

Well...it's already been there; a ship suspiciously like Vic Viper shows up in (at least the XBox version of) Airforce Delta Storm :)

Which is a commendable, though limited, early XBox game, by the way. The Twinbee craft is great too - comes with an arranged version of the classic Twinbee theme.

Wasn't there a 3d "into the screen" Gradius arcade game called Solar Assault?

Yes it was supposed to be not so good
