Default TRS-80 Unique Find - Videotex Terminal

The part # 71-5002 wasn't known, there have been units found with a 5000 and 5001. The other interesting part is that it has a different front logo than the standard model. Here is a site with more information:

    http://coco.8bit-micro.com/videotex.htm

Since the Videotex Terminal is based on the CoCo, maybe should be added to the database?

It may be based on the CoCo, but since it's strictly a terminal I would have to say "no". The cartridge port and serial ports are closed off so playing cartridge games, loading from disk or tape are impossible. It's a "dumb" system.

Still, pretty dang cool to see. The "Videotex" screen gave me a flash back to when I had a 300 baud modem for my CoCo 3 and was chewin' the digital fat on Delphi.

See you are from Wisconsin, where? Southwest corner my self. I see your point. I actually posted this in the normal forum and was moved here with just the comment. I saw that the Videotex expansion was listed in the latest DP and that is why I added that to it. Opened the thing up, I believe from what I can tell, if I swap the EPROM out that has the Videotex software on, should be able to get BASIC on it also which would be cool. Just nothing really to do with it since you can't save. But something to my collection anyway.

I live near the Lake Michigan.

The Videotex entry was listed as a "non-game" cartridge, but since it's a cartridge that's probably why it's listed.

Still, a very cool find, especially the farmer's version.
