Don't get me started on what the US version costs. You could buy the PCE version, a PCE console, and a TV to play it on for that much.
No need to recommend Risingstuff to me. I live in Japan and can find stuff cheaper than they offer it. Getting MC for the PCE isn't an issue for me (other than the higher than average cost compared to most other PCE games)

In other words, I have a couple PCE consoles and access to shops that sell Magical Chase. That's why I'm curious what the US version costs.

    Ah, fair enough.

The one in the pic is the JP version (I have a region-modded Duo-R). The US version goes for insane amounts of $ (and no jewel case) which is why I went for the PCE one.

The US one doesn't show up very often. Since I started collecting (about a year ago) I've seen a loosie go for about $400, a loosie + manual for $800, a complete boxed one for $1300, and a factory sealed one for $3K (which has now been relisted on eBay with a BIN of $8000 ).

I realize that this is an A and B conversation, but you asked him how much he paid for his copy of Magical Chase, which is OBVIOUSLY an import title since he posted it here. So of course he's going to respond w/ how much he paid for the JAPANESE VERSION of it. If you already know how much the Japanese version costs then you probably shouldn't have asked him how much, since not only was this posted in the import section, but it's clearly the Japanese version (you can tell b/c it has a white border around the image on the manual cover).

Apparently someone (me) had a few drinks when he was wondering about the American version and didn't realize this was the import section.

You'd think that the cover having "PC ENGINE" written on the cover would've clued him in... but nope.

Good score on those konami gb collections they have a lot of fun games in there including one goemon game that never made it to the west apart from in that collection & it's translated into english too (well it is if you got the european versions hehe)

Last of the stuff has turned up (well nearly), the ds is to replace my japanese red one as it's too rare for regular abuse. Gave the free game in it to my mum as i dont want that shit in my collection.

The only thing i bought was the Yugioh card almanac the rest of them i got for free as a gift (BONUS)

And this was from last week, mmm more ds stuff 100+ games & rising

I already had loose cartridges + manuals for the Euro ones, just got a box for one in fact (probably no tray inside though). These are the JPN versions of course.

Very nifty releases, still would like to upgrade all my copies of them besides the JP Vol. 1 Arasoi sent me though

My most recent import acquisition isn't a Japanese import at all: I just got an Amiga CD32, Canaduh version. No games tho... Seems like a cool little system at any rate. Not a ton of stuff released for it, unfortunately, and almost no RPGs, but there's a handful of computer games that I was semi-interested in playing without going through the process of getting DOS box and all that (not being a computer gamer kinda guy).

Alright, the last thing I got was a FM Towns game and two 6-button pads.

The game is Blandia Plus! Apparently this is incredibly rare (so the seller thinks). Expensive but not bank-busting. Came with a user-made (i.e. pasted together) movelist in English (and a photocopy of that) which is interesting.

It was listed twice; both times it failed to hit the seller's reserve price, but he let me have it after I had the top bid the second time.
