After reading GunPanther's topic about his Import Saturn collection I was thinking to myself that I have never played a Saturn before. So what systems have you never played before?

I've never played a Channel F or an RCA Studio II; really need to correct that. I'll take one of each, please.
More recent machines I've never laid hands on: Xbox (really), Virtual Boy, Saturn, SMS, Sega CD, Neo Geo, TG-16. Hell, some of those I've never seen, let alone played.
I lost my Vectrex virginity at last year's OKGE, and I've been drooling over the very thought of owning one ever since.
Channel F. I won't ever play it either, it will just sit in my closet. Forevermore. Such a POS.
Systems I have never touched
Nintendo DS, PSP, Turbo Express, Sega Nomad, Sega MegaJet, Wonderswan, Atari Lynx, Atari 5200, Amiga, 3DO, Jaguar CD, Super Grafx, GameBoy Light, Game.Com, TI-99, ColecoVision, Intellivision (Yet I have played INTV Lives on Xbox)
Hmm.. I've pretty much touched everything, but i have never played a lynx, a 5200, a 7200, wonderswan, PSP (yet :P), neo-geo, sega saturn, and all the older stuff outside intellivision, leisurevision, and a 2600...
As bad as this is going to sound...but i haven't touched almost anything Sega, except the Genesis and Dreamcast.
hmmm....a lot
Neo Geo AES
Neo Geo CD
Atari Jaguar
Sega Saturn
Sega Master System
Atari 5200
Vectex
Turbo Duo
3DO
RDI Halcyon
FM Towns Marty
ColecoVision
Channel F
RCA Studio II
hmmm....i know theres more too, i just got tired of listing them

Systems I've never played, and why
Intellivision - my parents didn't want to cough up the dough for this puppy. We had a Atari 2600 with a number of games, and that was good enough.
Colecovision - my dad decided to buy an Atari 800XL computer instead.
Sega Master System - Actually, I really was never even aware of this machine. I had a NES system, I wasn't really into video games, and never saw a commercial or anything regarding the Master System. First time I saw it was when I went to Toys R US looking for new NES sports games. At the time I was a casual sports gamer. I saw the strange white boxes and the weird looking system, and thought...hmmm, what the heck is that?
TurboGrafx-16 CD System - Not that I didn't want one really bad. I had a TG-16 system, but the CD unit was just way out of my price range at the time. Didn't have that kinda dough to throw around on a system that only had a couple of decent CD's, at least at the time it only had a couple of decent CD's.
SuperGrafx - Didn't really know much about this system, it was an oddity to me, if I lived in Japan, I probably would have tried to get one, but very few games, and the cost made it a non factor.
Neo Geo CD system - I had a Neo Geo Gold System at one point. For about 4 months, back in the day, but I never had a Neo Geo CD based system.
GameBoy - I never had one of those black and white gameboys. Never interested me, with that horrible screen they had. I only had a Atari Lynx for about 2 weeks.
TurboExpress - Actually kinda wanted one of these, but again, the price made it easy to avoid.
NEC-FX - Never had one, never had much interest in one. Really, to this day, I can't understand what the hell it is.
FM Towns Marty - This looked more like a PC to me, and I'm more of a console guy. Plus only a few games I would have wanted to play.
Pioneer Laseractive - This thing was interesting, but only if you were super rich, and I certainly wasn't.
Wondermega or JVC X'Eye - I liked the idea of S-Video output, and the all in one design, but wasn't enough for me to cough up the scratch.
Color GameBoy - At one point I almost got one of these used, and actually would be interested in getting one now, but the games still cost too much for my tastes. It would mainly be for my 5 year old.
hmmm, can't really think of anything else.
Oh, I forgot about a few of them.
Atari 5200 - We had a Atari 800XL computer, so it was basically the same thing, right?
Atari 7800 - Didn't really know this thing existed at the time it was out. I really wasn't into home video games at this time. Played some games in the arcade, but wasn't playing any home games until I got my NES.
Jaguar CD system - I had a Jag, but by the time the CD unit finally saw the light of day, I knew the Jag was a dying system, and I dumped my Jag. Still have never got a Jag CD system, and damn they are still quite pricey.
Neo Geo Pocket - never had one, never really even seen one.
Wonderswan - same as above
Game.com - same as above
Nintendo DS - No games that really interest me, although I do like the screen for GBA games. I just wish it was more light weight and could lose the other screen. I think the other screen is nothing more than a silly gimmick.
Sony PSP - Anybody want to donate about $325 to me?
As much as I hate to admit it, there are a ton of systems that I have never played, and many that I have never even seen.
I've never played anything that is older than NES (other than Atari 2600). I've only played Sega Master System once in my life. I have only played Saturn once as well. Most of the obscure systems I have never played (Turbo Grafx 16, 3DO,Etc). I have also only played Xbox a handful of times.
PSP
Intellivision
RCA Studio II
Channel F
Turbografx-CD
FM Towns Marty
CD32
SuperGrafx
Atari Lynx
Leisurevision
Aquarius
GP32
All the really obscure stuff, like RDI Halcyon, Casio Loopy, Bandai Pippin, Adventurevision, etc.
I've played quite a few of the "lesser-known" systems over the years. Wonderswan, CD-i, 3D0, Neo Geo CD, Turbo Express, Jaguar, Vectrex, Odyssey2, TI99, Game.com...
I've never played a lot of the earlier consoles like Channel F, RCA Studio, Odyssey for some pretty basic reasons. 1. I was too little so I got one or two game machines max. 2. They weren't sold where I lived. :P
I've never played: a Bally Astrocade, an Atari Jaguar, 3DO, and the home version of the Neo Geo. I wouldn't mind trying them though
Geezus H PDF... what have you been doing the past 20 years..Originally Posted by Phosphor Dot Fossils

Well...yeah. I just didn't like the look of most of what I was seeing out on those systems. Silly prejudice, I know.
Oh, and I do, in fact, live under a rock. Difficult to smuggle an Xbox into that tight a space.
I wouldn't mind test-driving the SMS, Saturn, TG16 or Neo Geo though, I have to admit. Partly because of the praise that's been heaped on 'em by folks here.
PSP
Virtual Boy
SMS
Neo Geo Cartridge/CD systems
Turboduo (I've played a -16 before
Turboexpress
Lynx
That's about it, all others I've owned, played, or at least touched.![]()
And don't bring up that stupid girlie Aladdin rip off! Shantea?
Out of all of those systems, only the Xbox is actually a popular system. The SMS,Saturn, and TG16 sold pretty poorly, and I never knew anyone that owned one. I played Saturn at Incredible Universe back when it was new, but all of my friends had a Playstation or N64 (myself).Originally Posted by NE146

I never played anything pre-NES (yes, it's true), and I never played any later made Atari consoles either. In fact, I don't think I've played any American-made consoles. I haven't played any handhelds besides various forms of Game Boy and the Neo Geo Pocket Color. I haven't played any Japanese-exclusive consoles, and I haven't played the SMS, 32x, Neo Geo AES, and Neo Geo CD.
I think those categories cover nearly everything I haven't played. I guess the only company whose consoles I've all played is Nintendo (but even then I don't own and have barely played the Virtual Boy and DS).
Despite all that, I think I do have quite a few consoles. It's kinda amazing just how many different systems have been created when really only one or two consoles make it big each generation.
I think It would be better that I write the systems that I have touche.Well, lets star: Atari 2600, Nes, Snes, Genesis, Virtua Boy, Gamboy-standard-color-Advance, Saturn, Playstation, Playstation 2, Dreamcast, Xbox and Gamecube.
So, you can imaginate the consoles that I havent tried yet. Yes, it is a lot.

Besides the very obscure the list of which I have not played looks like:
Turboexpress
Neo Geo AES
Neo Geo CD
Game.com (I think I played it in a store once, but I'm not sure)
Atari 5200
PSP (In time I will.)
3DO (I played either 3DO or CDI not sure)
CDI
Nuon
Coleco Vision
Commodore 64 (If this counts)
Odyssey 1 or 2
TI99/4A (I have carts with nothing to play them on)
Point granted. But this aint no gamefaqs.com message board.Originally Posted by imanerd0011

Yes. They sold poorly.. but WE were the ones buying them. It's only the mainstream gamers that passed on these consoles.
It's all about the games, and more consoles == more selection of gamesPersonally I couldn't sit around with an NES knowing the SMS library was out there. I couldn't sit around with an SNES/Genesis knowing there was the TG16 library out there. I couldn't sit around with a psx knowing there was a Saturn library out there. These were the MAJOR consoles of their times.. albeit the losers of their respective sales wars.
But anyway, I'm just giving PDF a little shitThere's plenty o' consoles I haven't played myself like I said

Well, also, to put things in perspective: I sat out the NES era and the 16 bit era because my gaming had shifted to computers by then. For some reason it didn't occur to me until after my last post, wondering "Okay, wow, so I skipped huge scads of gaming history...what WAS I doing?" I was playing Taipan and Final Conflict and Ultima IV & V and doing a lot of BBS BS. I just wasn't using a console to do it.
This sounds like me as well, I didn't bother with the NES (because I had a C64 with an unlimited amount of "free" games), and during the Genesis/SNES era I had an Amiga.. and the same "free game" thing applied.Originally Posted by Phosphor Dot Fossils
That said, the systems I haven't played yet (but oddly enough, I have games for some of them):
Channel F
RCA Studio 2
Arcadia
AMF-1000
Neo Geo Cart/CD
Virtual Boy (the one I got was broke)
Wonderswan
Pippin (yes I'm reaching here)
Playdia
Game.com
and oddly enough all of these are on my "must get" list... so send em this way if you got em![]()
Hmm, this is going to be a short list for me, if only because two years ago I set out to try and give ample time to as many systems as possible to see which ones I'd like.
Systems I haven't played:
Panasonic 3D0
Phillips CD-i
Atari Jaguar
NEC PCFX (oh but how I want one of these though)
Channel F
Odyssey (1)
... now add in all the super-obscure ones like the playdia, pippin, etc. But that's about it. I sort of miss the time I had 21 unique consoles at once, but then again, it's nice to have space too :P
