Ground Zero Texas for sega CD, several years ago
PSN: SouthRox
Without dragging them out to check the dates, I'd say that mine is Tomba (PSX). Nothing too old in my disc section.
Fighting Street for the PC-Engine definately... The Jap version that is... which got released on the 4th of december 1988. I know that's one of the first CD games for the PC-Engine CD unit. And the CD-Unit (the suitcase model) being the first CD-based console.
I think Fighting Street got released at the same time as Noriko?
Z for PC all i remember is it is from the early 90s and you could run it in DOS.
To bad it doesn't work right anymore very cool game.
well the oldest cd I own is a game compilation, some abandonware and some C64 games and emulators. It was a while ago, some 95-96 or something.
@izret101, well if the game's old, that doesn't mean u can't play it... Get DosBox.
That is Not Dead Which Can Eternal Lie,
And With Strange Aeons, Even Death May Die.
Indiana Jones and the fate of atlantis (MAC)
Sewer Shark (SEGA CD)
3DO Crash n Burn is the oldest one I have now.
The first one I bought was Slam n Jam 95 for the 3DO.
hmm.. thought I was in Off topic
I still have a PC copy of 7th Guest.
See ya Aug 2012. 'I swear I'M NOT DEAD! I'm feeling fine! I'M FEELING HAPPY!'
If you're bi-polar look into the new prescription drug Lamictal - It's changed my life (and I've spent 20 years looking for a cure.)
Same Here. I think its 1987Originally Posted by retroman

Well, I guess my oldest disc games would be my cardboard box Sega CD releases. Not sure which in particular is the oldest, but I'm guessing they're all roughly from the same time period.
As for the first I ever bought, I think it Final Fantasy VII (GH) and Star Ocean: The Second Story for PlayStation. O_o Yep, I didn't get into disc games until quite late. I was a Nintendo girl, so it was just carts for me.
And for my first CD ANYTHING ever, I think it was what, 1996? I know I was around 14 when I got my portable CD player and my first music CD. I pretty much had zero interest in music up until that point, so all I had before that were a handful of cassettes and a walkman. I didn't have a PC until 1998 either, so that's when I got my first computer-related discs. So yeah, I'm a late bloomer in all regards, I suppose. I didn't get into DVDs until pretty late also.
I dunno..either raiden project or jumping flash for Ps1, which ever came out 1st.
"First, we have aspirin. A common cure for things that aspirin cures. Leads to.....rabies."
If oldest: Sewer shark.
If earliest bought: Driver.
For some reason I do have the PC version of Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective.

Hmm
Didn't multimedia just come out in 91? So for the PC anything before then was file related only?
I have a game called Beyond The Wall Of Stars from 1992. It is a cheasy live acting multimedia adventure by RA Montgomery who wrote the books of the same name.
It's a PC/MAC game. And I even beat it.

Raiden Project was out at launch I don't think Jumping Flash made the launch thought it did come out shortly after.Originally Posted by Crush Crawfish
My oldest CD game would likely be Y's Book I&II. I think it was the third game released on the Turbo CD preceded by Monster Lair and Fighting Street. I think Valis II came out after Y's.
I still have my Dune game I bought in the very late 80's or possibly 1990 at the latest for the PC. I didnt even have a computer at the time I bought it to play on my rich Uncle Ray's computer.
Myst for Mac (is it PC too? I'd have to check), bought in 1994.
WipEout, which I purchased with my PSX in early 1996. I remember having such a giddy feeling that I finally owned a GAME ON CD-ROM (yes I'm a dork). I didn't own a computer until early 1997, which also came with a bunch of CD shovelware.
Video Game Generation - You're never too old to play!
Currently Playing: Metal Gear Solid 3 (PS2), Gun (Xbox 360)
Recently completed: Wild Arms Alter Code: F (PS2), Animaniacs (GBA), Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike (Xbox)
Viewpoint for Psone. Disc only though D:
One of the Turbo CD's, JB Harold, Fighting Street, Sherlock Holmes, Ys 1&2 etc..
Heck ya! I have this too still for PC. I have all my old games like Doom 1-2. The problem is uless you have an old PC running Win95, the games are worthless. That is one reason I don't get into PC gaming that much. The games just don't last. BUT, I did play the original Bard's Tale for the PC on a WinMX machine. Can't believe after all these years this old DOS game would work on a PC today, amazing!Originally Posted by Joelius
