Cleaning up a Genesis...

I got this Genesis pretty cheap at Goodwill, but it looks like crap. (see below) Is there anything I can do to make it look better or remove those scuffs? They dont look like scratches...

The white scuffs on mine came off with some alchohol and qtips. Also some electronics cleaner is nice.

I'm not sure wether you can remove those scruffs or not.. But my Model 2 Gennys come pretty dirty, I use Q-Tips to clean in certain places (Like around the buttons) And Paper towels to clean inside the Rim around the genesis cartridge slot.

Be sure to not push too hard on the system when using Q-Tips. I learned that the hard way with my Xbox.. :/ now it has scruff marks..

The damn scuffs are getting lighter... but u can still see them...

I use a car wax/cleaner. That is a car wax that has a slightly abrasive cleaner in it.

It will take those scuffs right off. Just use a cleaning cloth and a little of the wax and scrub lightly . Then wipe off the whole unit.

Use tire dresser like STP tire protectant. Makes you system look shiny and hides the scratches.

This'll sound kind of stupid, but what I do is take systems apart and put them in the tub and spray a cleaner similar to Scrubbing Bubbles all over. Let it sit (don't let it dry), then rinse off. The only problem I have run into is the stickers on and original NES, it can fade them. I just was more careful after the frist one and now I don't have a problem. Will not do anything for the scuffs and scratches, but it'll be really clean.

Oh, just in case. This is only done to the cases, not the circuit boards. For them, I use circuit board cleaner.
