Mad Catz does DDR for the Cube?

"MC Groovz Dance Craze" is rated "E" (Everyone) by the ESRB. The game features 28 songs from leading artists including Jessica Simpson, Kevin Lyttle and Jewel, a selection of the latest techno dance club tracks, and even some disco classics.

"The new dance game and beat pad bundle addresses one of the hottest trends in the interactive entertainment industry by capitalizing on the very popular dancing craze," says Darren Richardson, President and CEO of Mad Catz. "The launch of the game is also an important element in our strategy to add new revenue streams that leverage the capabilities of our existing business. The game introduces an innovative eight directional button format and includes four styles of game play including:

Just Dance: single player dancing
Dance Together: two-player collaborative dancing
Dance Face Off: two-player competitive dancing
Dance Workout: Fitness mode with calorie counter
Each dance style offers Easy, Moderate and Expert modes to challenge everyone from novices to dance game aficionados. The Nintendo-licensed Beat Pad is designed to support the new game play with eight directional buttons.

Yup. I've played it.
Rather confusing if you've already been bred on DDR.
By default, the arrows come from the middle (samba De Amigo style)
but you can program it in "classic style" where they come from the bottom.
Only problem with this is that the arrow order is different than DDR.
As well, on garder difficulties, there are *EIGHT* directions....

Got them in at the store yesterday. Possibly a collectible item, as I don't know too many folks who are going to drop $60 on a rhythm game that isn't DDR-and has very few decent tunes on it. About 80% of them are by 'leading artists' that I have never heard of.

The pad itself is a generic DDR-style black mat with purple arrows. The game itself comes in a Gamecube style case, complete with insert.

eh, that sucks if your trained on DDR, i went to canada and they had another dance game...the name escapes me but it had 5 arrows, they were pointed in diaganol position and another in the center...that threw me off

yeah ditto i so suck at Pump it up.



i can't get it after doing DDR, i wanna turn on an angle to get the steps right.

but if pump it up came out on the GC i would get it no problem, i don't want to play it on a pc. but i perfet most of the songs on it to any newer DDR songs, and the animations and backgrounds are way better than DDR.

I'm definitely getting it for my niece for Christmas. She's got a Cube and loved her cousin's DDR PS2 game when she brought it over.

Heck, maybe I'll buy it for myself as well.

I've only played against my mom, and she's bad at every game. At 53, she gave DDR Max a solid go and even offered to let me stow my Mad Catz pads at her apartment.

She'll probably kill me if she ever tries Karoake Revolution, though...
